Agreed consistency across browsers is a short coming of AJAX but that is why the author of the article was pushing Macromedia Flex for development of RIA's. With the flash player your basically getting another form of a JVM, something you can count on for keeping things consistent across browsers. Flash has pretty good browser penetration over 97% is claimed although I'm sure that is an exaggeration.
I didn't say BSD was linux, I said I'd rather play with other flavors of linux than look at BSD. You should try to tone it down a bit, I was just trying to get some insight from the BSD users of the group as to why they felt BSD was better than linux.
I am open to trying new technologies and I wouldn't mind playing with the new mac os. However I need some more convinceing to go after an opensource BSD distro. I think I'd rather try other flavors of linux before taking BSD for a spin, we all know there's plenty to choose from.
I have also been running Fedora for some time now, Core 3. I concur that there are some issues with Fedora. The update manager doesnt seem real stable and the time it takes to boot is downright ridiculous. I'm dual booting and XP boots much quicker. I have been contemplating reimaging to another distro, I currently run Ubuntu on my laptop but with this article and the good things I am hearing perhaps I will give SuSe a try.
The only reason Google has not completely taken over all Yahoo traffic is the fact that Yahoo mail came out long before GMail. Many who have had Yahoo email accounts for years hate the thought of having to redistribute there email address to friends, family and colleagues that have come so accustomed to there current one. I for one continue although begrudgingly to use yahoo mail, but do all my searches from Google.

This is actually not the first time for Eileen to command a shuttle, Eileen was also the commander in 1999 where she had to perform an emergency landing due to a electrical glitch. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi -0507100350jul10,1,5001379.story?coll=chi-newsnati onworld-hed/
