Personally, I hope he beats it, like OJ.

A jury of his peers, who should be computer guys, many of whom had shrew wives leave in disgust. A M$ bent keyboard with blood in it (Reiser uses a normal keyboard), a small glove in his yard. If someone overheard him say anything about killing his family, well, there are lots of times we Unix folk talk about kill -9 and killing children, parents, etc. But someone in the know knows that we mean no one any real harm. Actually, Reiser's wifey poo probably heard this type of talk from him in his sleep, and she paniced and fled to another country. And being an evil, non-technical woman, probably left blood everywhere to set him up.

Then, after he beats the rap, Reiser could tour Linux conventions around the world searching for the real killer.

  2. Google is losing focus on Google.org to Spend an Initial $1.1 Billion · · Score: 0
IMHO, Google is losing focus faster than a teenager after drinking his 10th beer in 20 minutes. They seem to be trying to be everything to everybody, and aren't doing much of it particularly well (except search, and that is becoming littered with a whole lot of absolute garbage, repeated entries, etc). Christ on a skateboard, how long have Google Groups and Gmail been in beta?

And what is all this attention to the third world? Haven't we dumped enough money into that losing cause? How about dumping some of it back into America (if they have excess money to dump)? The US sends massive amounts of aid to these third world shitholes, Boner of U2 can't seem to get enough time on TV, Bill Gates wants to keep people alive long enough to buy a new copy of Vista (with Aqua), $100 windup laptops for people who can't even feed themselves, let alone have the strength to turn the crank... when will this madness end?

Will all of you be happy when the toughest science course offered in the US is "The Economics of Outsourcing and Wealth Redistribution?"

And something like 1.5 million kids are killed each year in the USA because it is "inconvenient" to the mother. Why is this a "good thing" while Malaria and AIDS thinning the population in the most primitive countries bad?

The last thing the US needs is more impoverished immigrants getting on a boat to the US to suck up our overly generous welfare benefits, boost our crime rates, and lower our property values.

Let natural selection take its course. After all, it's not nice to mess with Mother Nature.

I heard Melinda Gates has a MS logo tattooed on her "good side," and a pic of Steve Ballmer tattooed on her "dirty" side. Bill has to "give it to Steve" up the hershey highway if he doesn't pony up for these pathetic causes Melinda comes up with.

I have a theory that Microsoft employees are trying to sabotage the open source initiative by "volunteering" to help work on the code. Personally, I'd just like to be able to set an evironment variable, e.g. MS_EMULATION_ATTEMPT=0 and have all this eye candy crap go away.

Yeah, I have tried just about everything to turn that piece of shit off, to no avail. Running SUSE 9.3 and when I start soemthing with a little startup time, like RealPlayer, I have to deal with the goddamned Real logo bouncing around over my vi session for what seems like 60 seconds. Give me a break. I don't *want* something with all the crappy baggage Winblows offers.

The Ghetto thugs are there to learn some science by watching the great scientifics minds of our time: Laurence Fishburn and Morgan Freeman. Where else can they see this but in the movies? The movie experience gets worse as you come south (in the US). Especially Texas. Apparently, they don't even whisper in the theatres in Mexico. Some of them even like to point out interesting things with laser pointers, fer chrissake.

  8. Re:Biggest Issue with MS Interoperability on Microsoft Linux Lab Manager Responds · · Score: 1

I downloaded the M$ "Services For Unix" package, all 230Mb of it. When I tried to install it, it said it couldn't, since my file system wasn't NTFS. So much for "interoperability." What I wanted to see was if they pulled a typical M$ move, and changed all of the commands to work the way THEY thought they should. Sadly, I'll never find out, because I am not going to go from FAT32 to NTFS on this particular dual boot machine (Winblows XP Professional and RH 9).
