  1. Premature? on Games Should Be Like Female Orgasms · · Score: 1

Would the premature ejaculation of video games be when a game is so fun that you finish it within a week of purchase? (As I did with GTA:VC and GTA:SA) It was a lot of fun, but I felt cheated since I was just getting warmed up and BAM... it's over.

The thing I actually hate most is impotence. When you play a game that is loads of fun, but just as your getting into it you reach a spot that is impossibly difficult and frustrates the hell out of you because you just can't FINISH.

    - "I swear, this has never happened to me before. I must be stressed."

  2. Re:Broadly agree on The Next Gen Consoles - The Bigger Picture · · Score: 1

I don't know hardly anyone with a GameCube. And most of the few people I knew that did, sold it. I guess it just depends on your circle of friends.

Personally, I have avoided Nintendo like the plague simply because their games are derived (perhaps no more that other consoles, but still...) and they have what I still consider cartoony graphics. Their colors are too bright and too few, even in "scary or suspenseful" games.

I believe the key issue is being overlooked here: console power. The PS3 will be 2x more powerful than the 360 and 15x more powerful than the revolution. Yes, 360 and PS3 may slug it out, but Nintendo has a rude awakening coming.

Only time will tell, but I think Nintendo should stick to what it's good at: Handhelds.

  3. Development and Appeal are Separate Issues... on Drawing Minorities Into Gaming · · Score: 1

I agree that more video games could have a wider range of ethnic characters (such as Mark of Kri, GTA:SA, etc.), and the reason that this isn't happening IS most likely due to the lack of a culturally diverse development team.

That being said, I believe that most games are being overlooked when this statement is made. There IS DIVERSITY in games.

Stop for a minute and think of some games with strictly white characters. Unless you restrict this to the primary character, you won't come up with many. And even then there are fewer than the average person jumps to conclusions about.

Nearly every racing game ignores ethnicity due to the focus on cars, in Halo you are a faceless soldier in body armor, and in the America's Army, race is random from game to game. And let's not forget every modern sports game. Every race is included, and you can even create more if you don't like the balance.

The fact is, this is an overscrutinized subject that is not even closely looked at. If people would stop playing the race card and start playing games, they would see that entertainment is universal.

    End of story.

  4. Gamer's Legacy on Man Dies After 50-hour Gaming Marathon · · Score: 5, Insightful

Do you think that it was worth it? Did the man die with a smile on his face after 50 hours of intense gaming? I would think so...

This man actually QUIT HIS JOB so that he could spend more time gaming. Perhaps some better health management could be desired, but the man was the epitome of a GAMER.

    Rest in Peace buddy.

  5. Correction: MMOGs will change the future. on MMORPGs Will Change the Future · · Score: 1, Insightful

The most entertaining aspect of games is multiplayer. It has been since the beginning of games. Pong. Competition, and more recently cooperation, are the core of gaming. More specifically, social interaction is what all humans crave on an instinctual level.

Gaming is just the new avenue for those of us who despise mall-walkers and the like.

That being said, anything Massively Multiplayer is the wave of the future. However, RPGs are simply the first step. MMOFPS games like PlanetSide and the upcoming Huxley are another member of the MMOG club. As hardware capabilities increase, software will follow suit, and more complex games will be able to enter the realm of Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

Here's to countless hours to be spent online with friends that I don't even know!

I'd buy a GREAT car, but then I wouldn't be able to do most of the things I want a car for. I'll stick with the cheapy. It does anything I want, and doesn't cost as much to repair.

  7. Absolute Agreement on PlayStation 3 Could Support Mac OS X · · Score: 0, Flamebait

This is an overblown misinterpretation of a GAMING CONSOLE. You will not be running the PS3 like a PC or your dumb-assed Mac. It will play games. This is (roughly) how it will go.

    Step 1) Insert Game
    Step 2) Play Game
Step 3) Realize the OS is of no concern to using a gaming console and return to your pathetic, rumor-mongering existence
    Step 4) Masturbate
    Step 5) Sleep

    Any questions?

  8. Re:Thank u god on PlayStation 3 Could Support Mac OS X · · Score: 1

Sometimes people need to think before they speak... The PS3 is not about running some retarded OS so that nerds the world over can rejoice in victory over Microsoft's monopolistic tyranny. It is a GAMING CONSOLE. Plain and simple. Games. Fun games. Lots of games.

Also, PS3 and XBOX 360 are damn near finalized as they ramp up for release. This means no changes by Microsoft and no "(making) bill even madder and he might make the xbox 360 even better." And if you think that Bill Gates is in any way personally involved in the design of XBOX hardware or even software for that matter, think again. The system uses PC hardware and Bill has better things to do with his time.

But hey, ignorant, uninformed morons will shoot off at the mouth, it is one of life's little certainties, (along with death and taxes). So trudge ahead, oh perpetuator of stereotypes and misconceptions! Infect weak minds with the malignant bile that is your poorly spelled and punctuated posts. The rest of us will simply sit back and enjoy a gaming system that shames all others with 2x the power of XBOX 360 and 15x that of the Nintendo Revolution. 3.2 teraflops of gaming performance is all I care about.
