I will keep my eye open for a TCTO, This should keep us Comm/Nav folk busy for awhile.
Might be a good Idea to buy some stock in honeywell and L3, Some times I wounder if they have people on the inside to help them sell their products.

Honestly, since I was in high school in the late 80s, I though that we should put music on chips like game cartridges of the time. No moving parts, protected from bad elements, etc. I guess that they were and still are way too expensive for mass duplication. I mean, the movie and music industry people are already poor and living in the streets because of the cost of the current media right?

well the barenaked ladies tried a similar idea with USB thumb drives http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/11/22/184723 9&tid=141&tid=198

right, if THEY discover us, but maybe one of NASA's projects will work(hehe almost said that with a straight face) or SETI will find somthing/someone, and hey maybe they are in the exact same place we are.

  5. Why are they always ahead of us? on Canadian Ex-Minister Calls For Serious ET Study · · Score: 1

Why does everyone think that IF we find another life form (ET) they will be so far ahead of us technology wise? Couldn't it be the other way around? What if we find life on another planet, and they are fairly far behind us? what if they just discovered electricity, etc.
it just seems every time someone talks about ET they are 1000+ years ahead of us and can kick our asses.

  6. afraid of change on How Things Will Change Under IPv6 · · Score: 1

It seems to me most of you are just afraid of change. I personally welcome it. Of course I don't see why we can't see different proposals, it is always nice to have choices. What is so bad about having more IP addresses? Yes, it's a little more complicated, but hey it could be fun. I am sure most of you where scared when a masked man in leather walked in with duct tape, pliers, and a watermelon, but you get used to it after awhile.
