A religion driven administration cutting out funding for the search of extraterrestial life... Who didn't see this one coming? Probably the same people that think Bush's supreme court picks are just good judges.
We're all born ignorant... becoming a developed and intellectual human takes time and work. I once had a 19 year old female tell me, "There must be a god, how else to do you explain lightning?" These type of people are out there in mass and they too take surveys.
It's rare for someone to think of themselves as ignorant. Seems to be human nature. Maybe it's connected to self preservation; a trait of evolution theory?

Tell that to those who lost loved ones on 9/11 and in Iraq to those focused on their "God's Rightous Wrath".
I have some old VHS movies that I can no longer watch because I no longer have a VCR. I just watch them on DVD instead.
Important information will find it's way into the 22nd century. If it doesn't, it's our own fault, not the medium it is stored to.
