Have these people really thought this through? Apparently, the writers thinking on this has gotten as far as "Google are going to make a fortune off our backs" and "we can sue them for millions", but stopped short of "this might really help potential readers to find my book".
A bit shortsighted?
Still nifty - wonder if there are any spam-law people out there who could use a map like this as a people-to-interview list? Imagine a version that maps all our spam, then sends itself to people who can actually use that information.
This is a most welcome development, as Europe (and indeed the West as a whole) are currently guilty of the most shameful under-utilisation of our dead cat reserves. More research should be done in this area - for example, the claws might well make excellent tootpicks, and the flesh of the younger, less muscular specimens might become a useful source of cheap protein for the poor - and this is to say nothing of the possibilities offered by the eyes (road safety anyone?) and other parts.
As a final note, apart from the rabbit, this is probably the ultimate in (self) renewable energy sources. My girlfriend's family have a particularly sluttish moggy whose offspring alone could easily both family cars, had we access to such technology.
Not for long, I'ld say - this'll be great for cameras, even my girlfriend won't fill it too quickly - could be we'll finally have a card that can last a whole holiday.
Where I see this card being a real breakthrough is that it will have enough capacity to made tapeless camcorders really practical - big enough that heavy compression won't be necessary - they'll be smaller, with better battery life, and, ultimately, cheaper.
Come to think of it though, if people want to store a really decent amount of DV-quality footage, something with a bit more capactiy would be nice:-)
