  1. Re:Ridiculous on Music Industry Threatens to Pull Plug on Apple · · Score: 5, Funny

What? You mean the recording industry doesn't get a cut whenever a CD player or a set of speakers is sold? Clearly the music industry is floundering.

  2. Re:Govern on The Fracturing of the Internet · · Score: 2, Funny

Shouldn't someone check with Al Gore before they go messing with his internet?

  3. Re:Hmmm on Hurricane Relief - What Would You Bring? · · Score: 1

My church rounded up 500+ bibles to send down south. We heard through the grapevine that many of the evacuees had asked for them.

  4. Re:What about successes? on Palm's Mistakes · · Score: 2, Interesting

I agree. I use a Tungsten model to store info I use as a volunteer educator at the zoo here in town. It's just the right tool for the job. Pocket-sized, durable, easy to use (and to train others to use), saves us from carrying books, papers, and notebooks in a backpack. No complaints here.

  5. Mmmmm.... calamari on Giant Squid Caught on Film · · Score: 1

Can't wait for McDonalds to start offering Super-Sized calamari rings.

  6. Bracing for future attacks on U.S. Deploys Orbital Communications Jammer · · Score: 1

"The U.S. military is bracing for future attacks in space." Makes you wonder what they know.

Vanuatu - the India of P2P?

  8. Re:Why is this news? on IBM Thinkpads now in Titanium · · Score: 2, Informative

Hmmm... can't say I've ever purchased a notebook based on its color. However, I rather liked IBM's idea of keeping them all basic black while concetrating on other, more important features.

  9. Re:What? on Running out of Hurricane Names · · Score: 1

How about naming them after fired FEMA and DHS staffers? Seems fitting.

  10. Re:Brilliant. on Major Microsoft Re-Organization · · Score: 1

Adding to the existing herd of suits is the best way to ensure lively and productive blamestorming sessions after the next delay is announced.

  11. Re:A Quick Comparison on Major Microsoft Re-Organization · · Score: 1

It's almost an unfair comparison. Pixar still creates, still revolutionizes, still innovates. While Microsoft just buys up its competitors and slaps the MS name on the "new" product.

  12. Re:Scrubs moment... on Major Microsoft Re-Organization · · Score: 1

...and they have to share a cube.

  13. Nice on Missing Lab Mice Infected With Plague · · Score: 1

Be on the lookout for sick looking cats with tails hanging out of their mouths.

  14. Cause and Effect - User Training on IT Departments Are A Security Risk · · Score: 1

We try to keep our users informed and teach them what to do and what not to do when it comes to surfing, clicking and virus prevention. Nevertheless some manage to shoot themselves in the foot. Those who do, after being isolated from the network and shut down, are moved to the bottom of the help list and dealt with at the end of the day. I've found that making them simmer for a couple/few hours without a PC tends to drive the message home.
