Most hosts of Olympics use it to justify costs of building huge amounts of new infrastructure.
Even if not put through this time it might just be the precedent of argueing for the huge extra costs of implementing this infrastructure. You can bet the next host will do it though.

In holland we have virtually all public television programs (of our 3 public channels) put online for 1.5 year now with 3 million something streams around September 2005. If you just missed it there's the"missed program"-site. If you missed it a couple of weeks, most are still watchable from the database. There's another site "tvonyourpc" if you like it on theme.
The national news ia put on of all hours and 24 hour news online. Also the commercial channels are now beginning to use this format slowly, competition I guess..
I use mediahopper to track some US channels, but looking forward watching NBC too!
at Philips they discovered (2 my knowledge, undoubtely someone else 2, anyway) the lightbulp that didn't need replacement. Lightbulp for life... forget it.. light makers need sales..

same reason in france they stopped selling the metal filters that you could use for your filter coffee.. end result: everyone is buying filter packages

2. USA = internet (now it is half the worldconnections, but be sure you will receive a world connection overkill very soon - think of being just 1/10 of the worldconnections if you're lucky, so don't play the dumbass).
3. Fuck the other politics for the moment (don't mention the UN), look at the fact that you do not want a seperate web, which will happen if there isn't one truely world organisation (even if it was for the form). Handing over to a global organisaton in a good manner will STILL allow more influence then otherwise. Pick your smartest I would say.

The Russian occupation numbers: 1697 days occupied from 1971 to 1986 before Mir got launched in 1986. The Mir got 4594 occupied days and occupied till an agreement with the US in 1993 (splitting the flights of the last 7 years). The Skylab list now look rather small.
However, I think a "who has the biggest discussion" is silly. Commercial space-agencies are laughing.
