  1. ummm ever heard of a proxy? on A Campaign to Block Firefox Users? · · Score: 1

There are several proxy servers that will block ads for any browser, so you might want to shut down the site and start thinking of other mediums. I personally would never buy anything ever from anyone who discriminates against my choice of browser!

I recommend Kubuntu - Ubuntu with kde. Kde is more intuitive I think for Windows users. You won't ever go back to windows - run win32 apps in wine, or windows under virtual box or vmware maybe. I also recommend PCLinux2007. Personally I like kubuntu much better, but if you do just want an OS up and running in 10 minutes with Beryl and most everything you need PCLinux2007 is a good choice.

I have also had great success with ubuntu and wifi. The latest kubuntu feisty had no problems with the intel wireless card in my t60, and I like the new wireless manager much more than windows. It also has built in support for WPA now. On my HP laptop which uses a broadcom card I have to load ndiswrapper. I just typed in ubuntu dapper(I was running dapper then) broadcom ndiswrapper in google, and the first link was a how to page in ubuntu forums. I followed the instructions and it worked no problem. Ndiswrapper allows you to use windows wireless drivers in linux and works for most wireless cards.

Check out Thout Reader www.osoft.com. The Thout Reader uses loose DRM, and Books are typically 30% off. You can download lots of free documentation from there website to check it out. Thout Reader is written in Java and is open source open source (GPL 2.0). It also looks like they plan on implamenting the open reader format see http://www.teleread.org/blog/?p=3575
