another point, is that having thousands of books by hundreds of different authors on the shelves is a much bigger and harder to ignore voice than a couple of articles on the intarweb. it gets the info out to the public in a way that actually makes them think, rather than through a standard media medium ie. government sanctioned tv news, something which the public at mass just absorbs and passes out the rear end.

true happiness is only attained through enlightenment, however you want to personally describe that. psychdelic drugs, and i include cannabis in this, are the perfect tool to disassociate yourself from societies ideals and worries, and let you stand back and see things from a different perspective. i would almost use the analogy of seeing the world from a new dimension, it is that profound.
