  1. Re:Comments from the author on Pythomnic, Development Environment for Python · · Score: 1

Pythomnic surely looks useful, thanks for your work. But I agree it's a bit too much for a single person. Some additional functionality would help as well as additional marketing :) You can try to cooperate with other synergetic projects out there (python or not). That would make yours and theirs life easier.

    Good luck to you.

Hm, I take that back. Looks like the linux version is unavailable and being ported - as you said. The site I was looking at, was actually openwengo, - much better than the zoep site. My bad.

There is a Linux version. Right on the front page, they offer versions for Windows and Linux. The Linux version has video too. They are still improving it but a working version is there to download - 3.5MB in size. Two other versions under development are mentioned but not available for download - Mac and Palm. May be you got confused by that?

  5. Re:Of Plasmaks and Prizes on Alternative to Tokamak Fusion Reactor · · Score: 1

There have been tokamaks operating for a long time now - they just give less energy than they take. The small size is the reason for it. No safety issues have been observed with any of them.

The safety issues, military diasasters and HUGE waste of money are the hallmark of oil politics. Wars and killing are necessary to extract oil and protect oil routes. Add to this the pollution, global warming, etc. The price of oil is billion times more than the price of fusion energy and research. Not to mention that oil supplies are limited and it's only going to get worse. It is already pretty bad, but it is going to get much worse.

The choice is clear, but unfortunately we have entranched interest groups who are quite blindly weighing on the wrong side - even against the future of their own children.

As the previous poster said, Spaceship One's sole purpose is entertainment. If you call tourism on a real ship "narcissistic joyride" you should use even stronger words for Spaceship One's trips. One can argue that tourism on real ships makes a whole lot more sense than tourism on ships that can't even get into orbit. The latter waste money without any scientific purpose whatsoever. Note to moderators: The previous comment by Rei, is quite normal. It's not a flamebait, especialy compared to it's parent. Please, someone, mod it back up.

  7. Re:I don't think it's possible. on GPL 3 May Require Websites to Relinquish Code · · Score: 1

You are wrong. The intent is to allow the modifications to be downloaded too. Read cafrefully what RMS said! "download the code that is running"... And that is restriction of use. No one will be against leaving the download button intact for the original software. It will take the site of the author down, not the site of the modifying user. RMS undertsands he is on a slippery spot and that's why GPL3 takes so long. He wants to restrict use but knows that he will lose face easily.

  8. RMS will invoke DMCA? on GPL 3 May Require Websites to Relinquish Code · · Score: 1

I can see no other law that would make GPL3 enforceble. GPL3 based on DMCA is combination that will make a lot of people barf. Open Source is a lot saner movement than FSF, this whole dicussion proved that much.

  9. Re:Huge Security Issue! on GPL 3 May Require Websites to Relinquish Code · · Score: 1

This is the largest problem with the proposed GPL v3. It should not be called GPL nor it should be called "free". The licence takes away the freedom to use the sofware and imposes restrictions to the data produced by it. Calling the licence GPL and passing it as "free" is an obvious underhanded tactic. Shame on RMS for falling that low. If he wants to create another, non-free licence, he should clealry mark it as such.Like NFPL (Non-Free Public Licence). That's the the only way for him to preserve his integrity.
