I thought this would be an article about the new microsoft word spell check wizard.
It could have even been a discussion of all those who sit there reading posts just to reply about spelling.
"yeah well at least i can spell, turn spell check on loser"
I find this all very odd, it crashes so horribly and frequently, why is it then that MS held a big shindig in the desert and people waited around forever all while playing the new xbox 360 and you never heard of this once. And if project gotham racing crashes on the first race well how did any of the reviewers capture the game for all of the video i have seen.
I watched G4 last night just to see all the people who were waiting like starwars fans, and not one of the live videos of game play i saw had any lockups or crashes, unless the crash caused the game to continue its play and the users were randomely hitting buttons in order to try and unlock it, sorta like when you move the mouse around and chaoticly type on the keyboard when your MS OS locks.
I have to say I have had an xbox and only had one lock up that I can remember and it was on the new mech commander. I look forward to getting my 360 that is on order because i like awesome games. As for nintendo, they suck, the graphics in there games are so kiddy it bores my 5 year old son. The only reason they survive to this day is that parents buy there low priced console for kids and the fact that until the psp they had the big handle on the hand held market.
Honestly I dispise MS as much as the next/.er, but I have to admit that the console they have made does give sony a run for its money. I own both and in recent days find myself using my xbox more due to graphics. It is one hot little bastard, in fact I think it runs hotter than my pc, whereas my ps2 is hooked to my video multiswitch and has not been turned off in 2 years and still runs smoothly. I admit I would never trust my xbox to do this. I can however say that in the market the games MS has created have some of the best graphics I have seen, and I hope they continue to try and set a standard for gaming.
So in the end what I mean to say is, if you are a real console gamer you will buy both xbox and ps. If you want to hate ms, hate them for everything not Xbox.
Let the/. abomination and verbal beating begin...
All of the protection is the reason I stopped playing PC games, I own tons of them, but I didnt like the stack of cases and I dont like how books scratch them, so I would back them up.
Well after awhile backing them up didnt work because of encryption, so I learned how to get around it, then came larger hard drives so I started backing up to images, still had to get around the encryption so I learned. Got to the point that between me, CDFreaks, and a good lite-on burner there was nothing I couldn't do.
Then came Xbox and PS2 offering almost all the titles I play on PC so I switched, and have not played PC Games since, I may pick up the new Civ just because I have always enjoyed ruling the world.
I am but a lowly nobody, but when I play a game that I own and it requires me to have the cd inserted during play, I generally just image off the disk and mount it on a utility such as daemon tools, which allows you to play the game because it is using a virtual drive and it can also emulate various protection types. This way the game thinks that you have the disk in, you get to play it without having to go through the horrible work of lifting, ejecting and inserting that large cumbersome CD over and over like 2 times a day for the next 5 months. I know that this work will eventually lead to some form of debilitating condition so go with a utility that keeps you from doing this.
Note, this PC may be slightly heavier than the average laptop, but it is just as portable. It is self contained in a Tractor Trailer... Hello did we take one huge step back here? Lets all go get our peter built out of the garage and hook onto one of these magnetic drive tractor trailer pc's. Good job now I can sing 18 wheels a turnin as i check my email.

It looks to me more like an inch worm than it does a catapillar.
