Yet the article states he continued to have unprotected sex with his partner who was infected. If he was not infected he would be by now.

You are so VERY wrong it has caused me to be forced to post. I and my family were in the May 3rd 1999 tornado that hit southern Oklahoma and cut a path over 96 miles south west -> north east. it hit my neighborhood at 33 mph spinning at 318 mph and was aprox. 1 mile wide. Yes it was classified as an F5. It acted like a chain saw which completely destroyed everything it touched but left alone what it did not. The thing we needed (and received from MANY very WONDERFUL people) was clean up crews. Just people like me and you! No matter what type of people, no matter what they looked like, just some extra hands to clear away the rubble. In this case they need the same thing. As my dad said to each team leader when a team showed up, "Just do the best job you can, let god handle the rest." The thing that seemed to cause the teams to do the most good was for us to support them as best as we could. My mom ran a grill all day long and kept food ready for any team in the neighborhood. My dad has a very strong knowledge of construction and so he helped the team leaders point there people. Many people helping in the reconstruction had NEVER used a hammer before... THEY did a MOST outstanding job, and SO WILL YOU! A willingness to work was all that was needed; the skills and training are derived from common sense. How hard is it to drive a nail, use a shovel, determine is something can possible be saved. Remember these people are devastated; however they can rebound just as we did. There were people from all over the US that came and helped; this in and of it's self meant the most to us! To know that others cared enough to give up there senior trip to god knows where and bring their entire class to help was astonishing! Others gave up there vacations, one couple was there on our place helping out ON THEIR HONEYMOON! Now that is THE AMERICAN WAY that makes me proud to be an American! If you are a skilled craftsman bring the tools to do your job. A man came in and brought his paint rig and painted the inside of our newly constructed house in 2 days instead of the 2 weeks it would have taken us. An electrician brought several simple tools which made the wiring go together in about the same time as it took to build the walls instead of taking an extra week to put the wiring in after the walls were built. Both of these used helpers who had never been on a construction site before and if the job wasn't exactly perfect like a contractor would have expected WE DID NOT CARE! And neither will they. These people need a home to live in, if they have to repaint a few years later they can, (we have not had to however) If a plug-in isn't working it can be fixed later, (not a problem for us) The biggest problem people like you face is that you lack the self confidence to just go try to do something. Remember if you don't know to build something they are not asking you to build a house, they are asking you to HELP build the house. Help .... That is something anyone can do! Bring your wife/girlfriend she may not be able to carry heavy loads or help stand up a wall, but then again she may be. She may also be able to keep the grill going and the others fed/watered. If you can't physically do the work no problem do something that is not as physical! Several of the volunteers that were in our neighborhood were just there to talk to us and try to help us cope with the MASSIVE loss that had occurred. Just having someone to listen was the biggest help. Some one that stopped us and pointed out each time when god did something that helped us, such as when I went to work to pick up a box of stuff and my truck wouldn't start. It was while I was jump-starting it that FEMA called them looking for contact info for me. I was there and was able to take the call cutting 2 months off the time it was going to take to get any help from them. Yes anyone can help, they had counselors up at a school we could go talk to but we were rebuilding our home, we had NO time to go mess with them. The people who came and helped us have been, are, and will always be in our prayers for ever! ~Nate
