  1. You can't get to China from here... on Earth Sandwich · · Score: 2, Funny

Dammit. So when I was little I really should have been trying to dig to Australia instead of China. I'd need to go to Chile to get to China. Maybe that's why I never got anywhere.

Saying I'm a bigot implies that I'm against anyone who is different than I. The JOKE (yes it was a joke, did it hurt your feelings?) was only against the opposite sex. Saying it was a bigoted preconception would be saying it's offensive to all women, as well as men, who differ in nationality, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, skin color, etc, than me. I was only trying to offend people with a penis.

    Nope. Not biggoted. Only sexist.

Right. Because we can't find it on our own?

I'm pretty sure it's not that we don't know about the work, it's because we don't want to work with 30 year old men who sit in their parents basement looking at porn all day.

  6. Are you kidding? on Professor Bans Laptops from the Classroom · · Score: 2, Insightful

By the time a person reaches college he should be able to pay attention with a couple of minor distractions.
It isn't elementary school anymore where a person can get sent to time out for distracting the other students from story time.
But also by the time a person reaches college he should know that he is paying to listen to a professor, and if that professor wants his classroom a certain way he'll get it.
So this should have nothing to do with the students. If they don't like it then they can take a different class with a different teacher, or just deal with it. It has everything to do with the professor. People with authority can make things how they want them. If you want power over the classroom then become a teacher.

Picture this: One magazine that has "AMERICANS ARE ADDICTED" on the front. One magazine that has "AMERICANS ARE DEPENDENT" on the front. Which do you think would sell more?
