  1. Doesn't current 3d uses many simple eq? on Revolution in Graphics? · · Score: 1

I am not an expert at this but to me what this "new" tech does sounds alot like most other graphics methods.. Doesn't 3d polygons work by having lots of equations being done by the CPU to make a scene? And are not most of these equations quite simple? And why use the word simple? What is simple? For us seeing is simple but for a computer it isn't. Now that's a good example. Think of it this way we can see so easily and to do that we allocated the largest portion of our brains to any single task. If we just assume that visualising is similar to see then we must have similar processing power. I don't think there is any computer that can match the brain at overall processing power yet. What I mean is you can only go so far interms of clever methods. We can all see it in the CPU race between AMD and Intel. AMD may have the better chips but Intel has the brute Mhz ( until recently ) and Intel was winning. Personally I am not aganist this but it isn't very impressive. I wouldn't mind cheap "real world like" graphics but I am not going to jump up and down at this. I just can't believe that someone working by himself with little help can hope to do what other's working in large companies with big R&D can't. Just look at hotmail addresses how many "somehandle9999" do we need to get before people get the point that if you think of it 9999 other people would have think of it too?

  2. Software is like sex. on Why Most Software Sucks · · Score: 1

That's right. Software just like sex depends on what and how. Take windows for example. It might have all the pretty and "friendly" interface but if you look beyond that there isn't much to enjoy. Sex with a pretty person might seems great but it doesn't go to well if he/she is empty headed. Eventually you'll get tired of him/her. Software is like that too isn't it? You can buy Unreal and have all the nice little eye candy or you can get quake 2 which doens't look at nice but runs faster and doens't crash your machine.. So it's your choice.. chose the bimboware or the geekgirl/guy ware..

This is totaly new. This guy knows what he was doing. His account of how he did it made it look like he actually wrote notes while cracking the test machine. That's something i have never heard of s-kiddies do. Also this guy didn't rant to the world about how great a person he is and why we should all say he's so great etc... etc... What an interesting case he is!

It isn't it so strange that only in the last few months that your "normal" non geek americans are begining to get concerned about school/teen violence?

After the littleton thing eveyone's an expert on why teenagers shoot. Everyone knows that it is the violent movies, video games and so on that causes our teenages to shoot.

Umm... So much for your white american views..
What i want to point out is that for years now America has teen shooting in schools out of school at homes. But for so many years it has been a black African American problem or so the white polititcans think.

What's more it isn't it strange that many of these black teen shooters never touched Doom, quake or quake2 before they pick up a gun?

People will be people, forsight and hindsight are both colored by people's own belives and envioments. Never believe what people say about looking back being clearer and more objective. People still only see what they want to see.

Depeated uranium is only used in the bullets that goes into A) the A-10's avenger cannon B) the M1A2's special machine gun rounds( not always used) and C) the apache's cannon rounds.
They don't go into bombs or missles. Just ask yourself what use is D.U in missles and bombs? The purpose of D.U is to provide a massive material for the bullets so their Kinetic energy can be much greater without using larger heads which causes more aerodynamical drag and thus reduce the range and effectiveness of the warhead.

Using D.U in missles which uses explosive warheads or shaped charges is totally pointless it'll just add dead weight to the darn things. Same with bombs. D.U is call depeated because it isn't really radioactive otherwise why use the word depeated?

  7. Imagin this. on Yugoslav Internet Shut Down? · · Score: 1

You are bombed day after day. There's no electricity, no TV no internet. You don't dare to go to the local bar/pub cause the air raid's been hitting the wrong targets. Your house's cold the bathroom stinks cause there's no water to flush and you stink cause you can't shower. Your only night time activity is sleep( no power no lights).
I am sure some of you read the asimov books. I am also sure some of you have read the "foundation". What the characters did was something like this cut off all the little things in life.
It isn't fun to be bombed and it's even less fun if you can't find something to take you mind off it. This is a terrible form of warfare. It's not bombs or bullets it's an attack on your mind. It's pychological warfare!
