You're right. There is one big giveaway. The volume control is 'digital' which means that the device has to be on before I can turn the volume down. So If I was playing it loud before my visit to the john, as soon as I switch it on it'll make a noise that can be heard in the next stall. Gotta be careful when I do this or it could be very embarassing.

I might even be playing discreetly.

Any time I want a break at work off I go without even the slightest telltale bulge in my pocket to give away what I'm doing. Unfortunately I think the person in the next stall might have just spotted the laptop that I'm using in here to post this comment...

Tried it, but it didn't help. But it sure made my shit smell nice. (And this isn't some lame attempt at humor, it really did leave the bathroom smelling like someone had sprayed the place with minty freshness.)

I'll tell you what did help me. I had a sigmoidoscopy. A month later, after a decade of suffering, it improved dramatically (not a complete cure though). It was as if my body had decided it couldn't take that kind of abuse again!

Clearly something does stop Spyware authors, otherwise Mac users would be complaining about spyware.

I also turn up zero when I search for spyware. (Ironically I did once have one item of spyware on a Virtual PC running Windows 2000 Server on my Mac.) This was running a variety of OSes - Windows 95-XP, Linux and FreeBSD, but mostly Windows. I have received many emails containing viruses but as far as I know I have never launched one. So On average I'm seeing the same number of viruses on both my Mac and PC.

Someone tell me what I'm doing right! I'm only taking fairly basic precautions though my router does have a firewall.
