Owing to the popularity of the.MP3 format I think the only way a new standard will take off is if the output quality can rival CD. Someone needs to create a compression algorithm that can force the file-size down to something similar to.VQF, for example, but maintain or improve on the quality of CD.
Macs have been stuck with sub-standard ATI cards for years, but ATI seem to have pulled their collective finger out with the Radeon - some people think it'll be better than the GeForce 2GTS for example.
I hope Apple's choice of graphics card will be made on practical, not political grounds.
Having used the trackpad on a PowerBook to perform 'mouse clicks', I can assure you that all this 'rubbing' and 'squeezing' is a load of nonsense.
I would imagine Apple will arrange these touch sensitive areas on the mouse in a similar layout to the buttons on Microsoft's Intellimouse, for example. I would also imagine that the digits on your hand will rest naturally on these areas, and to perform a 'mouse click' would only need the same pressure as with normal mouse buttons.
I recently bought a G4-400 w/ MacOS 8.6 for my wife. It is hardly stable. We find it locks up or the pointer freezes or acts erratic at a rate of almost once per hour.
Have you tried trouble-shooting?! The OS is fine....you have a conflict somewhere. Do I really need to elaborate?

There certainly is in the UK....The funniest one I remember was in a broadcast of the movie 'An Officer and a Gentleman' where the Sarge says "The only thing to come out of xxxx is 'steers and queers'" - they actually changed it to 'strays and gays'. Thats what I call censorship =P
