If you have a three-year-old, it would certainly be a good idea to know where your kids are at all times. If you want to monitor every single move your 16-year-old makes, you've either raised a hellion who will no doubt soon get into trouble anyway or you're ridiculously overprotecting a good kid.
Public universities somehow manage to survive twits going off about their professors and classmates. Immature folks don't deserve responses. The proper response to a jackass going off about other jackasses is "Who gives a rat's ass what you think?"
I love going to see movies in theaters. A video iPod wouldn't replace this experience for me, any more than my iPod replaced my stereo, but I would love to kill time on a plane or bus watching movies on something more easily portable than my laptop or my portable DVD player.
I recently finished a master's in counselor education, and some of my professors were excited about the possibilities of CMC and online counseling. The criticisms seemed to be:
1) You miss nonverbal communication such as tone, posture, facial expression, etc.
2) Confidentiality concerns with online communications
3) If you were practicing therapy online, there would be no way to garantee that all participants were in a state where you were licensed to practice.
My kendo uniform labels are in characters, so I have no idea where it was made or, actually, how I should best wash the thing.

Not Kazaa! Where else can 10-year-olds fill their parents' computer with spyware so quickly?
