I actually support the idea of using Twitter or other free media outlets for reporting things.
I hear people complaining about it like somehow it's more appropriate to force someone to pay for a newspaper or watch commercials to read this information.
My concealed carry instructor informed us that the best defense is a portable MP3 recorder. Use it liberally as it can easily be erased and restarted. If you ever find yourself in a defensive situation, what you say (and what they say) can be paramount in a self defense case.
You do know that it's government keeping only a few Cable providers available don't you? (ie: I can't start up my own cable company tomorrow and offer service to my neighborhood without going through my local government.) They also sign deals with cable companies to have exclusive rights to areas for certain periods of time (effectively granting a monopoly to said company.)
You want government to fix a government problem by adding more government?
Negative. The one hope they might sell me a subscription for a while... gone. I already have a Windows machine for gaming, but to be able to plug in my Lenovo Debian machine when I go to my parents for the weekend and drop into a few games is out the window. (I likely wouldn't have kept it for the long haul though seeing that I like to mod games, so maybe it's all the better.)
Well, no, not really. Gtk#, for example, is available on Windows, but only as part of Mono.
I don't know if you are aware, but something with a '#' after it being part of.NET/Mono is fairly obvious. In fact, I know you are aware of it but since you took away your little "I work for Microsoft" disclaimer on your profile other people may not know (that you know.)
I am. I grew up south of Sandusky, live in Columbus now.
To be honest, I don't see any problem with it, but I claim no expertise in English. I guess the "proper" method would be "need(s) to be"? We just shortened it.;)
I'm not talking about putting out a fire here. I'm talking about collapsing the already drilled well.
With all the responses (that apparently don't read each other) berating me for stating that explosives can/have been used I apparently should have left that part out.
YES! I KNOW that the explosives were used to put out the fire and not actually close the wells.
Right, but is there fallacy in drilling secondary holes nearby and "pushing" the well shut with secondary explosives?
What I was thinking was 2-3 holes nearby equidistant from each other and set off at the same time. Wouldn't that push enough mass to seal the well or cause enough rubble and opposite pressure to close it of?
I could be wrong and it could all go downhill from there.

I'm not sure I understand the sentiment that somehow the Internet is different than print media when reporting events.
Putting it on Twitter is not like making a comic strip out of the event and joking about it. It's just another form of communication.
Who decides that? Who do we consult to find out if it's appropriate to read something on the Internet opposed to printed media?
Damn me for already posting... and Slashdot for not having a +1 Sarcastic mod.

Run away from the bullet! OMG... Go!
That's great and all, but I wanted to hear Edison...
(The video is a short clip of the story on what it took to create the machine and there's about 3 seconds of the radio program at the end.)
... I'm sure there was no talking involved. Only typing. ;)

Ah, sorry. I missed it. Shall I submit my papers to be prosecuted and tried for murder now or next week?

No Linux and no Windows XP... did the EEEs ship with Windows 7 Starter? If not, there's another strike.
Nobody's perfect. Sometimes you forget your car keys, sunglasses... Sometimes you set fire to an oil rig. Such is intelligent life.
I can't be the only one that noticed how the Star Wars video showed the guy moving AFTER the "in game" character.
Personally, it doesn't matter how much he spends.
IMHO, he's just trying to paint a new face over his image so people will forget... and it seems to be working.
I knew someone would say they knew!
I don't know if I'd say you "had to upgrade"... I'm sure there was more "want" in there. ;)
Aren't publishers already corporations?
NetBeans would be my counter. I find it much better(speed, etc.) than Eclipse recently.
As far as cross platform client applications they also have:
Limewire (even with it's legal proceedings...)
Azureus
Runescape

Considering how loudly we broadcast to the universe, we probably create a much bigger foot print in the RF than a planet our size should.
Is there a galactic mandate on the amount of radiation a planet is allowed to emit? If so, where can I read that? ;)

Yeah, we covered that.
