    And if you're not an American:
    1. The servers are in the US: NSA does what it wants (because you, the client, are not American) and can subpoena the information, or can get the FBI to just subpoena it. Further, access to the information is guaranteed to cross a US border.
    2. The servers are not in US: NSA must hack them to get the info. Access to the information does not necessarily cross a US border.

    That's part of the problem: it's only enforceable on a case-by-case basis.
    It's one of those laws that will only get used when you're already going after someone.

    Everything you know is predicated by some set of *axioms*; not assumptions. For example: euclidian vs. non-euclidian geometry. Do you accept axiom 5 as part of your axioms? A || B || C => A || C Good science will investigate it's own axioms.

    300 baud or DSL?

    I have both and it's easy to mix the two up especially if you have one of those last-century DSL modems with the DB9 or DB25 serial connector.

    They have about the same usefulness when used to hit people with.

    One with a handset cradle, still in it's suitcase, from when slashdot was on uunet with a broken G protocol. It's *much* more useful than a crappy DSL modem to hit people.

    Microsoft is creating a chicken and egg problem where there isn't one. Use OpenSource, and the expertise will come. It lowers the financial burden, and it also lowers the barrier of entry to gain expertise. And it's in your local language. -an African.
