Google made is way to the "monopoly" on a natural way, creating good services to us, they just didn't lock us to their services to be a monopoly. I believe that they at the moment deserve the ad market share they have. It's not like when they get evil we won't be able to turn to another fish on the sea (but frankly, I don't think they will, because the moment they become it, unlike Microsoft (for now), they will drown).
I can't see why this Jingle Bells version doesn't. Because it's a graphic card? Well, mine it's an electronic instrument also, to record the song I also used a piece of technology.
By the way, it's played badly by the guy! Sorry, at least you could practice it a little more.
I'm not trying to be negative or anything, but... I record something that I believe that as some musical value and never gets this recognition.
I'm a musician for about 10 years, one of the problems I see on today's popular music is that it has to much production and poor real music (on the melody side).
As I see it (and probably I'm going to repeat someone's post since I didn't read it all), the band goes to studio with no songs, or crappy songs and the producer as to transform that in to a commercial success (is carrier is probably in stake also) since is name will appear on the album credits.
So in the end we have lazy bands that just don't play and practice the instrument has they should (or are not that talented), producers make it audible (?!) and teenagers listen and buys this crap having a wrong idea of what is GOOD music.
When a show a song of mine to a teenager they promptly say: "Sorry, I don't like instrumental music.". So wait a minute: They don't like instrumental music?! Can I argue that listeners are also being lazy? They need to hear someone tell them the artist's/song's message in their language with lyrics? I can feel pain just by earing an instrument's solo, depends on how good the instrumentalist is. Maybe is where the problem resides.
The studio's production can make any Joe's band on chart's top.
Think about it. (Feel free to listen to my instrumental rock songs, even download them and please, judge them). No, I'm not a professional musician.
I'm a musician and I see internet as a tool to promote my work, not only a way to meet new people. Obviously I need the "real world" for inspirational purposes. Internet is not my muse it's my highway (sorry about this lame affirmation, but is true).
Every time I step out that door, a simple bee passing by, it can be music to me. Good artists knows this.
If an artist doesn't get it, maybe it's not that smart...
"The police exist to protect the people, not business..."
Police exists to also protect us from guys like this one. A guy with this philosophy, is dangerous!
Fortunately, when it came time to film that scene, Irvin Kershner was calling the shots and Lucas was (presumably) in a crypt somewhere. Harrison Ford looked at the script and said, "this sucks" and Kershner agreed and they changed it. And we all remember Empire Strikes Back as a great movie. The same thing happened in the 1981 film "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
...it doesn't. Movies, TV shows etc . are also part of the menu, so much so, that some are wondering how much longer Apple can call it the 'iT Music Store'.
if M$ released the source code of win98. I know that probably pigs would start flying, but the source code/kernel of win2k, XP and Vista comes from winNT (this OS's still has some "past marks" in folders names, etc.), so would M$ lose anything releasing the code?
I'm not a developer/programmer, so I ask you guys, how useful the source code of win98 could have been to the open source community?
Just a thought that crossed my mind.:)
By the way, sorry my poor english, hope that my point can be clear to everyone. A spell checker would be handy in/. hehe:)
... not everyone has a speedy bandwidth? The applications (Office suites for an example) on the desktop are still heavy, even for some... desktops.
Developers try to minimize the HD/RAM used in every release. Integrating those applications on the web with a lite interface is very difficult since, I presume, "all" the byte's on the application are necessary. I think the problem "resids" on the bandwidth.
"But at least this method could get people interested in guitar playing if they are too intimidated to buy a real one."
If that happen, it would be very disappointing for the wannabe guitarist after buying a guitar... it's not as easy as it seems to extract cool sounds from the electric guitar.
Listening really gifted guitarists like Satriani can make a guy buy a guitar (like me)... not that. That seems just something for fun:)
My opinion as a guitarist that wannabe a better guitarist.

That's exactly what I think of this.

Tux: "Ah! Vista... Thanks!"

Just a thought:
Could this move by Apple be because of more "complains" by an increasing number of (ex)Windows users trying the Mac OS X?
Is it possible?

Sony, a year ago, admitted that some digital cameras (not only Sony's digital cameras but all that had Sony's CCD) had a defect on theirs CCD http://www.css.ap.sony.com/consumer/template/ANDe
More about the subject from last year http://www.imaging-resource.com/NEWS/1128958202.h
I have a Cyber-Shot DSC-U30, and this year occurred the problem on CCD. Sony (Portugal) repaired the camera, I had to pay just the postal charges.

I'm still waiting for the Optimus Keyboard to come out! For me, that's the definition of innovation! :)

I wasn't invited to this "bug party" on /. since I use Firefox!
But if I switch the User Agent on FF to IE can you guys invite me? Please?
