This sounds like a full length version of the monster/mutant episodes I would turn off after 10 minutes...
The whole alien abduction/government conspiracy/Area 51 stuff was (imho) what sustained the series.
I was excited by the headline, but this sounds like it's going to be just another horror movie starring Mulder and Scully.
Sad, sad stuff...
