I see a lot of people here saying that that's the way it works when you're an adult. This is true but I guess the way I see it is when you're an adult you have to support yourself and possibly a family as well; typically you don't have to do this when you're a kid. I'm in college now and the reason I pushed myself to do well in high school was because I knew by doing so I would eventually reap the rewards of working hard such as getting into a better college and likely a higher paying job. I think it's important for people to learn the value of hard work for more than just immediate gratification. Just my opinion though.
What about Rutgers glider, Atlantic Glider, that has already crossed the Atlantic ocean? If I'm not mistaken it is completely powered by the thermal difference between the surface of the ocean and deeper water as well. http://rucool.marine.rutgers.edu/atlantic/
Not to mention that CS4 is only supporting 64bit instructions on Windows. There have been reports that there won't be a 64bit version of the Creative Suite for the Mac line till CS5.
The student committed libel. Libel and slanderous comments are not protected by free speech. I wouldn't consider this taking away free speech as much as I'd consider it keeping the integrity of free speech in place.

Darn... you beat me to it.
You can't got the "Facebook way" without using the math behind the "Google way." Therefore imo the future will be a hybrid of the two.
