    If God exists at all and created it all, he is a physicist that created a baby universe in the lab and has no ability to interact with the universe beyond the initial conditions set to make the universe successful....

    Why do you need an historical record? We have a geological record, Fossils, Ice Cores, genetic drift, archaeological relics all date to times well before 11,000 years ago.

    Gnosticism was a belief in early Christianity that claimed to have the mystic ability to actually know God. such ideas were blasphemous because the traditional Christian belief was that it was impossible to know God and thus, they were agnostic... The term Gnostic has not changed wrt christian religion, however, the term agnostic has changed so placing them on the same axis in your example is inappropriate.

    If they include things like the use of Citrix XenApps then I can see a sharp decline...local cloud based application publishing will reduce desktop support to almost nothing... especially if those companies are able to move completely to thin clients.

    You still need to move FROM this existence to Nirvana, that elevation is the last reincarnation a being will make. Once a being enters Nirvana, yes, they no longer die and thus no longer reincarnate. And as I said...one must die to reach Nirvana.

    Achieving enlightenment is not going to Nirvana. Nirvana is a state that one is reincarnated to once enlightenment during one's life has been reached. Death is a requirement for reincarnation.

    cancer is not evolution....it is caused, for most cancers, by a local mutation of somatic cells that produces cancer cells in a specific tissue. The mutation is due to environmental conditions (poor nutrition, poor habits, etc).

    Hi... I am a member of the screwed over generation.

    1)Home is worthless because of the irresponsibility of the previous generations
    2)Saddled in huge student loan debt because of the lack of care that previous generations had for controlling the cost inflation...they got theirs as it were.
    3)Stagnating wages so the old people can keep their high wages and pensions
    4)If the wrong people get elected, I will lose middle class tax breaks (mortgage interest deduction, child deduction, etc), because the middle class is apparently a special interest?

    The only problem with the comment is that it is a paradox. A conservative mind came up with it. to have such a program, the conservative would have to come to terms with the fact that it must be paid for through taxes...so...never gonna happen.

    Where I live and the store I was at, we have DSL, Uverse (Fiber) and two cable operators....four broad band operators. Perhaps the guy decided to use dial-up, but it is still weird.

    Before recommending a laptop, ask her how much she wants to spend. After you have that, it becomes a lot easier to discover what you can get. In laptops, I look for the longest battery life with a 15 inch screen. I picked up a decent Toshiba laptop for my wife for 300 dollars (after Thanksgiving). 15 Inch, LED back-lit screen, 4 gigs of memory, 250 gig HDD, and a duel core AMD chip. It was plenty of computer for her needs (web surfing and very basic productivity work).

    If you can get an SSD in her price point, I would make that a priority due to the battery life and performance improvements you get.

    while there is no weight, objects still have mass and momentum so producing enough force to start moving 1000 lbs and producing enough to stop 1000 lbs is a big issue.
