    What Oracle should do is put their development time behind build an good high performance and non-buggy Java app server. Websphere and JBoss suck. Most companies would pay handsomely for an App server that makes life easier and gives their end users better performance and reliability.

    Mono is pretty much a drop in replacement for Microsoft's platform. I am sure it will become much more popular when Java dies.

    BTW... mono allows you to use monotouch so you have access to the iOS API in C#. it will only be a matter of time before they expand that to include Android. One platform to target 3 Smartphone OSs? Sound like a good deal.

    name a single time MS has ever done that with one of their languages.

    C# has been around for almost 11 years now. Seems the language is well out of its infancy. You are just spreading hate on c# because it is an MS creation.

    the drag and drop GUI designer doe snot make it more powerful, it makes it a lot more productive.

    Frankly, the fact that you think the GUI builder is part of the language or the platform is laughable. GUI builder is a tool, just like MS's debugging (which is better than what you will find anywhere else). I could just as easily use notepad to build a C# app. At least I know when I run my app on the CLI it will be running on the same CLI for everyone else.

    the design also decreases the effective tax rate on the rich and increases it on the poor and middle class for a net loss in revenue overall.... unless you want to include sale tax on stocks.

    hogwash.

    New books range from 9.99 to 14.99. Older books are cheaper. Classics are free (thanks project Gutenberg) and the good stuff (sci-fi) even recent sci-fi is normally 6 bucks or so. Heck Anathem is 7.99. Sure you can get used books for super cheap and even market place paper backs cheap as well, but we are talking about bookstore prices here, nit bargain bin copies.

    When you talk about something being the first computer, you cannot count a vanity implementation based on the documentation decades after it was conceived.

    Might as well call Babbage's Analytical engine the first computer while we are at it then.. even though it was never built... someone is building it as we speak so when they complete it, it will immediately give Babbage credit for building the first computer right?

    We should amend it so that we go back to the Governor appointing and state legislators approving, but allow the people to recall them in a statewide vote. We should also allow a Governor to ask the state legislature to recall a senator, but it requires the legislature to have a 2/3 vote.

    It will prevent senators from being bought, and allow the people to remove a senator they think is not representing them correctly

    If it was on the ballot 3 times, then it wasn't passed any time prior unless your constitution allows the legislature to over turn it. In Cali... 51% of voters can pass a proposition and not a single politician can do a damn thing about it.
