  1. Re:Quantumware on Is AllPeers FireFox's P2P "Killer App"? · · Score: 1

The terrible thing is that this "app" jas received so much coverage that when it comes out, we'll all be disappointed. Its still going to be plagued with that same garbage that other p2p systems are clogged with, unless its going to run on its own network, in which case the community will be embarrasingly small.

Xbox live or not, social interaction happens when kids play together. I think its a moot point if the child is taken care of or not... Well, perhaps i didn't say that right. Assume no neglect, plunking your kid down in front of a video game isn't as healthy as interacting with other people. Developing social skills is an important part of childrearing. There is essentially no difference between "playing games with father and uncle" (lightly paraphrased) and "vegitating."

Its also important to note that a child exposed to a game at the tender age of 2, or even 5-6 may not be able to discern reality from game. In this particular case, it could even be said that the father and uncle are contributing to the detriment of the child by encouraging the child to follow in their footsteps. A long shot, maybe, but possible, is that Daddy watches football, and plays football with the neighbors. Daddy plays halo, and disappears for 8-9 hours every day, so he must be off killing aliens. Like I said, a notable longshot, but kids minds are not very far developed... They're, at times, scared of what could be under the bed, and are, generally, oblivious to the workings of the world outside their front door.

The downfall of society is so well documented. Picked up a controller at age 2? Thats a bit scary. What happened to kids going outside? Of course, its cool that they were successful in the tournament, but is this really terribly newsworthy?

If this was a complete thought, instead of a broken fragment, I'd be down.

However, they have no views on other issues. Surely Sweden has issues other than filesharing. Lets look at the big picture, this is a publicity stunt.

I'm not sure, but it seems that mac users are generally more educated. At least, recent switchers, I'm clearly not including the people that have been using a Mac II se to do their taxes since 1984.

I often recommend mac to people, as a completely satisfied mac user. The simple fact is that I'm tired of fixing windows. In 1998, it was ok to use a windows machine if you didn't know what you were doing. Now, you have to know what you're doing, or you'll be paying someone exorbitant amounts of money to run spyware scans.

OSX IS user friendly. Like it or don't. Go download a windows meta file.
