I'm just wondering if they are putting the data in a resource fork ala-.dfont files. If that's the case, I can't see it being a problem for rippers, just a complete screw around to watch it. Are they trying to get people to have to rip a movie just to watch it!?
I'd have to say, when I was a complete n00b and decided to use linux for the first time, I played around with many distros and by far the best community suport came from the lycoris forum. I was not once flamed for a stupid question (and believe me, there were many) and my overall experience was nothing but a helpful one. To any new linux users out there, Lycoris does come highly reccomended simply for the high tolerance to "stupid" questions and quick responses with real answers on their official forum. On a side note, I still use windowze as I work for a publishing and graphic design company so adobe and quark are used and interoperability with those two (mainly on macs) in particular is paramount.
you can't control behaviour, it's like the old steel toe cap argument that they are pointless because they will trap your toes if crushed around the feet. lets say you drop an 800 kilogram test weight onto your toes and crush the steelcap.
ok, ow take those caps off and do the same. Not much difference. now drop 100 kilograms onto your foot. I'll bet you wished you were wearing caps, I know that I will wear them every day. Safety is all about tradeoffs between what is overkill and what is necessary. Duck and cover will save lives, within reason. Of course you are gonna get killed if you are at ground zero. Don't be silly. but get about 10 kilometres out and it will increase your chances of living. Of course that that 19 year old noticing you has to be a given, but lets say she sees you "just in time" abs = no impact no abs = big impact. as I have said, were can you draw the line?
Systems like these do make it easier to control a car, that's why they are there. For those of you who say that it robs the driver of a real experience, I agree. I used to race go-karts in my younger days and I participate in ametuer rallying every month. ABS for example, is no match for cadence braking but your average driver dosen't posess these skills so ABS (unfortunately) has been made standard equipment. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that stop your bloody whinging, systems like these are great, they stop the 19 year old girl from t-boneing you because she was too busy talking on her mobile.
Okay, I think you have the wrong idea about how cars actually work. Vacuum assist is via manifold pressure - you have about 4 more "pumps" of the pedal before it all goes and if you leave the car in gear, you still have some manifold pressure. In an emergency braking situation, you should be down-shifting and braking at the same time, it eliminates the inertia of the drivetrain (if you really want to get into it, look into pascall's theory). Power Steering is a belt driven hydraulic pump, it will still work if you move your engine into a lower gear when it cuts out although it is far less effective. As for engine cut out, I had a holden genini in full race trim, if you have ever experienced points bounce, you'd know how uncontrollable a car can become when you miss with 12.5:1 compression. As for Automatic transmissions, most are electrically powered hydraulic, I know the EL falcons didn't like high tension power lines, they would downshift on the freeway and get confused from the RFI. I am a qualifed engine rebuilder, Mechanic and Panelbeater studying Mechanical Engineering. I know what I am talking about. That's not to say you don't, I just make it a policy to never assume that others have overlooked something so simple as this.
I used to share the defensive pessimists view throughout my teenage life. Confidence was low in general life, borderline agrophobic, I was not miserable but I was never happy. I could thank my new outlook on life on my medication but I put it down to wisdom and experience. If you expect to succeed in something, you will. If you do fail, accept responsibility for it and fix it, don't hide from your problems, Attack them head on. Simple truths about life like if you don't have a solution to a problem, you are just complaining about it. This overall attitude about life has helped me go from an entry level position in a medium publishing company to operations manager (manufacturing) in 3 months. It pains me to see people with the same problems and attitudes that I once shared. But sadly, This outlook on life must be discovered first hand. This is not saying that I don't get stressed but I never feel guilty for failing, I always feel responsible for my actions. I could continue ranting but it's my day off, I've just woke up and Anarchy Online awaits:D

This comment should have been moderated funny.... But I expected just this to happen.
