As long as it is Fun, it will sell...people are getting too wrapped up with the control scheme, the 360 and the PS3 are now trying to add a different control scheme, but it it's not fun then it'll just be another iToy novelty.
Why do developers do things backwards? Why do they target games for 2 consoles that are so far behind the leading console in sales? Wouldn't you make more $$$ if you created the game and targeted it for the Wii? and then port it to the other consoles?
My guess is that developers are having the same problem they have always had. They struggle to make the game play fun. Few games have had great fun game play on the 360 or PS3. They sell games by having pretty pictures, and meaning less features, (like the more amazing AI you've ever seen, yet no AI in any game ever produced has been worth a crap).
It is a much more difficult task to create a fun game. So developer default to the "easiest to impress" platform.
The Wii is out selling the 360 and PS3 by a large margin, it has the largest user base of any of the current gen consoles. Yet it is an after thought for most developers.
I bet the game developers are just happy that the publishers are ignorant of marketing and business, so they don't have to make the games fun, they can just keep trying to out geek each other.
Would I like the Wii to have HD graphics, crazy poly counts, life like AI, ect....YES!!!!, but not at the expense of Fun, or the game play....Give me fun every time.
Ok, software is just instructions for your computer right?, sort of like a receipe for you computer to "cook". That being the case and the fact that software code (instructions) can be patented. Then I have a very, very good idea.
I'm going to patent receipes, I'll start with breads, then everyone will need to get their bread reciepes from me. What do you think?
You would think that the music business would learn by now, but apparently they are pretty slow learners. They are using an old fashioned antiquated system of delivering their product that has no means of protection built in. To take a line from Alan Iverson "CD's??, we talkin' about CDs?"
Who the h*ll still wants music on purchased CD's. Hey Music Men please try and keep up. CD's are dead. How may people still listen to a CD they bought? Maybe some but most people use a portable music player like the ipods. Or if they do use a cd then its one that they created with a playlist of the songs they most like to hear. The music industry is so scared of all the different ways that people like to listen to their music because they have not found a way to give us this flexibility themselves. Their answer? Try to make us stay in their little box that they can control. Pathetic, unimaginative, and just plan old dumb that is the biggest problem with the music industry.
Hey Record Labels, you're loosing business because you are stupid and lazy not because people are ripping you off. Give your consumers the music they want how they want it and they will pay for it. Make them come up with their own ways of getting the music in the format they want and you'll feel threatened. Get creative on distribution not on restriction and you'll have a much more loyal customer base.

If this were try the PSP would be out selling the DS at this point, or do you think Sony needs more time in the market place?
