Going along with the war theme here; it's not that IE is puny compared to Firefox just that Firefox managed to route IE and cause a tactical retreat.
It always helps to route the troops before crushing them:D
I work at a semi-large callcenter and up until a few months ago we were allowed to use usb pendrives to bring in things like portable firefox, spyware/virus tools, etc. And then some fucktard brought in a packet sniffer on one and got a ton of credit card numbers from callers. Now you can't bring in usb drives, iPods, PSPs; nothing. Damned if they can stop me from playing Liberty City Stories during lunch though...
Dell has stopped using as many outscourced (read: india) tech centers because of the exact reasons people have given in the thread. I know this for a fact as I work at one of the recently in-sourced call centers, in Chesapeake, Va of all places.
And it's Dell on Call now but that's a whole 'nother set of issues.
