I didn't mention here when I posted because this isn't the medium for such things, but it is also a little something called copyright infringement. I'm luckily not relying on my art to earn my living, but if I was I could have easily been out a good deal of money. Of course, it could have also brought additional business, but the real point this. Copyright infringement is against the law.
I won't comment on your hiding or the fact that you obviously don't have a clue what I was really speaking about. "Downloading" and "hotlinking" are two entirely different things.
Completely off topic. How do any of the links you posted relate to the story of "crank blogging?" They don't at all. Your entire aim here is to insight a flame war between those that support President Bush and those who don't. Call me a realist, but Slashdot is for tech news and happenings. It is not for you to air your distaste for the President. If you wish to slam the President, get your own blog and do it there. When here, keep on topic. Is that too much to ask?
As for the moderation of your comment, those who moderated need to take a second glance at the topic and rate as applies. Off topic.
I find it wildly amusing that MySpace will lock down hotlinking images and videos to rival's sites, but they have failed to address their users who hotlinked away 1.5 gigs of my personal bandwidth over the course of a week in December.
Before I got slammed for not taking steps myself to prevent hotlinking, I did use the tools provided by my host via cPanel to disable hotlinking. The only problem is it did not work. I had to contact Tech Support and have them apply the correct code to the.htaccess. After comparing the changes the provided utility made and what Tech Support added, it was very different.
It seems getting Farked and/.'d is bad for you bandwidth limits.
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

Good thing I already read the article and was just browsing his site.
Serious bloggers usually use software such as Wordpress or MovableType to blog. Both of those have RSS feeds built in. Six Apart actually owns LiveJournal and the web-based version of MT called TypePad.
I'm not saying LJ and Blogger users aren't serious, and all users of WP or MT are. Just stating what is the "norm."
I've been wishing for this for as long as I can remember. Now that I am paying my own cable bill I want it even more. Why should I pay for channels like Lifetime if I never watch it?
The cable industry really has a choke hold on consumers. I'm glad the FCC is finally doing something right.
I like your replaced image. The "I suck" at the end is the greatest.
In the end, slashdotting myself wouldn't use near the bandwidth the full blown art does. I have some huge images out there.

But when they could face possible legal action they tend to pucker and run. I've seen it happen.
The Hubble already has a repalcement in the works. It is called The James Webb Space Telescope and is scheduled to go up in 2013. More about the JWST

God, isn't that the truth. . . LCpl, USMC
Fortunately for me I was rather young when GG was in its prime so I don't remember it much. I guess that would make it unfortunate for you.
/ducks incoming punch to face for making an old joke
That is the funniest comment I have ever seen. Sad part is I read the first line as the actual Rifleman's Creed instead of what you wrote. :\
You make a good point that I think deserves another look.
Suddenly, the only cable channels out there will be the ones that customers are willing to pay for. (shudder)
I would hate to see channels that I enjoy fade away because other customers aren't willing to pay for them.
