Several of the major commercial and dueling centers have become empty wastelands.
During character creation, there is a list of server populations. The high population servers are now listed as medium, the medium populations listed as low. It's possible that at the same time as the updates, SOE changed the criteria - but the decreased loads displayed matches my and others observations of fewer players.
The vocal minority of the forums seems to match the silent majority in disliking the NGE.
