I second this. The only thing this company does well is market their crap. You spend millions and get locked in before you realize how much their product blows.

  2. Re:DIY Zoning on Controlling Heating/Cooling on a Complex Schedule? · · Score: 2, Informative

This is one of the biggest suggestions I could make. I recently used products from : retrozone.com They have the only product that I have found that will easily retrofit an old house with zone technology. I spent about 500 dollars on parts and pieces. In the last year I have already made up for what I have spent. My winter bill is the same as last years which is pretty good considering prices have almost doubled in that time. If you goto: http://www.resconsys.com/products/stats/ They have various zone controllers and thermostats. Many of then communicate on an RS-485 netowork that would allow a computer to control temp set back and to query for the current conditions. Good luck

The IRS does provide free software. Last year I visited irs.gov and follwed the link, I was able to use taxcut (the online version) and efile for free. I only paid to efile in the state I live in. If you go to their website they have a list of the free software. The rub is, you can only efile for free if your gross income is less then 50K. But, you can always print the form and mail it in for the cost of a stamp.

  4. Great Idea on Autopackage Universal Package Manager · · Score: 2, Interesting

As someone who is new to linux this is the one area I struggle with. While not difficult installation of software on linux is quite different even among the different distributions. The autopackage software could make desktop solutions quite a bit easier for those of us that dont want to mess with system software very much but would like more control over desktop software.
