by not using them, you aren't a customer, and aren't entitled to be treated like one.
This isn't the issue. The argument is about consumer choice. Optimal economic policy is about ensuring the best for the consumer. That means lots of competition to drive down prices and offer plenty of consumer choice. By not allowing their hardware or software to be truly independent from one another, Apple can be said to stifle consumer choice and inhibit fair competition, much in the same way that Microsoft can be said to do the same by bundling Windows Media Player with Windows.

even the machine I custom built was better and cost a lot less [than a Dell] I should hope so. The best quality PCs are those we build ourselves! Dell, HP et al will not incorporate the best quality components in their pre-built systems because they are not the cheapest. That's fine for many people - for high-performance high-quality, custom-building or specialist companies like Alienware are, and always have been, the answer.

Wow, I hope people don't depend on you to look after their data. That would be one bitch of a consolation message. Don't confuse immunity to viruses with there simply not being many around. It's like telling someone who is in an Intensive Care Unit that they're immune to pathogens just because they are in a sterilised environment.
