This sound awefully fishy to me that a security company would give up and go out of business over this. Sounds like someone was cooking the books and needed an excuse to fold.

I manage a group of system administrators for a large bank. I would have done the same thing. Once people give notice, they are shown the door. Of course, they are paid for the two weeks.
This is pretty normal in today's world.
