    With VoIP this is different... your IP address doesn't store your physical location. Sorry to burst your bubble, Vonage has made it a requirement, at least in Canada, that if you want to use their 911 service, that you provide your street address on a page under account information so they know which center to connect you to.

    With the exception that this will be a long-standing release, and they will be supporting this longer than than they have with previous versions.

    That's true, but DC doesn't travel well, but I'm not sure on the figures. Either way, it loses more than AC, hence why wall power is AC, but I can't see there being much loss from one end of a data center to the other, the losses come from miles of cabling. So.. bring on the DC!
