Not really, there's only a small handful of fields out there where women don't receive the majority of the degrees. Earlier this year when I was getting my TESL, I was outnumbered a minimum of 4: 1 by women and in some terms I was literally the only man in any of the courses.
I don't see anybody clamoring to fix that problem because quite frankly, people don't care about problems that solely affect men.
A large part of it has to do with training and the effort one puts into it. That being said, few people really need pro audio gear that aren't professionals and nobody needs audiophile gear. You very quickly reach the point of diminishing returns even with amazing hearing.
The folks who spend more are frequently more interested in appearance than actual use.
The other major issue is speakers. Most folks didn't notice the quality, or lack of, with the iPods mainly because most folks listened with the bundled ear buds. Leading to among other things an inability to distinguish the various sounds being produced and permanent hearing loss.
I noticed when I moved up to a decent set of Sennheiser headphones a few years back for at home that I was missing most of the music previously as the headphones and speakers just couldn't adequately replicate the sounds.
Oh, please, the US is hardly the only nation that does that. Frequently it's the Russians and Chinese that are holding things up as much as the Americans.
Considering that it would take ~32mbps to stream that I'd say that it's extravagant. There's plenty of places around here where streaming an hour of video would take nearly an entire day. I know of a few neighborhoods around here where you'd be looking at 1.5mbps max bandwidth.
Indeed, and as long as there are aspiring comic book creators out there I'm sure there will be new possibilities for the next cycle. There's just way too many comic books out there that get completely neglected for this to ever be completely over.
The Tea Party is the bad contingent here because they turned down a much bigger package over $100bn in loophole closures and I think right now the biggest deal that anybody is proposing is in the $2-3tn range, a significantly smaller deal than what they could have had with a bit of compromise.
What qualifies the Tea Party as the villain here is how they're so focused on getting their way that they're prepared to screw over the entire country to get it. That sort of spoiled, bratty attitude has no place in politics.
Smeagol is actually Joe Lieberman, I forget who pointed that out, I think it was probably the Daily Show back a couple years ago when he switched parties to keep his Senate seat.
Questioning with ignorant questions isn't any more useful than failing to ask any questions at all, which is the problem. But in a competitive field like science where you can make a name for yourself disproving evolution or climate change, going with the majority conclusions is perfectly reasonable. It's not like there haven't been many people looking to shoot the ideas down.
Not really, I remember a study out a while back dealing with sweat glands that found a sort of inverse relation ship that those from closer to the equator had more sweat glands than those from further up north.
It could be racist, but more likely it's either an honest mistake or a reflection of reality. Adding racism here without any real cause is in and of itself racist.
The conclusion isn't necessarily any less reliable than any other peer reviewed paper, in fact I'd wager that this one is likely more reliable as a paper like this could easily end careers if the science isn't there.
This isn't any more racist than the observation that people from closer to the equator handle sunburn more effectively than those of us from the higher latitudes.
You seem to be correct, Sony was covered for property damage and personal injury, not cybersecurity breeches. So, I'm guessing that this wouldn't be considered property damage or at least only a very small amount of the claim could be considered property damage.
It's not that they're specifically cheating on the tests it's the way that they use their bandwidth. They offer a much larger amount of bandwidth for the first bit of a download which skews the results and gives the impression that they're providing more bandwidth than they really are.
Yes, but insurers don't typically give you a blank check to replace what you like for whatever happened. There are typically restrictions to what they'll cover and if you're behaving in an irresponsible fashion they aren't necessarily obligated to pay out. More commonly though they'll pay the claim then cancel the coverage.
Insurance fraud is a serious issue which causes all the other insured parties to have to pay more. I'm personally curious if they'll get away with refusing to pay, but given the degree of negligence on Sony's part in all of this I wouldn't be surprised if the courts reduced or eliminated the amount that Sony could receive for these incidents.
Are you sure that wasn't something that they were required to do by industry regulators? There's typically caps and limitations in place to prevent individuals from laundering money. Sounds to me like you hit a limit.
"sudo rm -rf/*" is by design, it's something that you have to be able to do in order for the system to function in a way that makes sense. There might be times when you really do mean to do that. And nobody should be typing a command in with sudo without knowing exactly what it's supposed to do.
DOS OTOH never had any concept of multiple users or elevated privileges which made it an even more obnoxious bug. On top of that there are times when one might want to delete a particular folder and everything in it, so it's not something that one would necessarily expect to nuke the entire system.
But it's not fast enough. It's hindering our use of the net for more cutting edge use. I'm lucky enough to have a 5mbps connection which is faster than much of the rest of the country, but I'm sitting here only a few miles from an IXP and Qwest is saying that they're not going to be upgrading the connection speeds of much of the city. I'm lucky in my neighborhood, I know of at least two other neighborhoods where the peak connection they offer is 1.5mbps.
Comcast is more or less a non-option as they cheat on connection tests and cap downloads at 250gb per month, as well as having folks sharing their bandwidth with each other.
You get that in any field where the pay is poor for the hours worked. Teachers end up getting singled out because everybody thinks they know how to teach when in reality it's another set of skills that you're being expected to master on top of the ones that are required to have knowledge of the field. And trust me, it isn't easy to get somebody that has years of experience in a particular specialty, knowledge of the necessary pedagogy and is still willing to work for peanuts with little to no job security early on.
Teaching isn't about being correct in every instance, if teachers did that you're mind would be mush before you got to the second class. You can't learn all the information in a single class that's necessary to understand the class without taking a lot of short cuts and telling a lot of white lies. Which is one of the reasons why folks in industry tend to suck so much at teaching. You have to take shortcuts otherwise the students will never learn enough to get to the next class.

Yes, but you don't typically stream full Bluray discs.
Sure you might prefer higher bitrate, but it's still extravagant considering that only a small portion of the US can get download speeds that high.
Technically, young Lieberman is Smeagol and old Lieberman is gollum.
I'd mod you up if I hadn't already posted.

Good thing that we don't need tax dollars to pay for Medicare and Social Security and other private services...

If they started killing face book users, I'd watch.

are still trying to figure out how to get our TSRs to use himem so that we can play our games.
I remember accidentally typing: del . and then instantly deeply regretting having hit the wrong key when it wiped out the entire filesystem.
Those that can do; those that can't teach.
