Interesting... I'm inclined to believe you, as it makes sense. If you're diligent and careful you're unlikely to get pulled over, so it's pretty low risk. Case in point, illegal aliens in CA can't get licenses but drive regularly anyway (I'm told). But, I'm curious do you have anything you can site on that one?
The itms is more varied when it comes to indie artists, but still not varied enough (how, for example, would I personally get my CD onto the itms if I made one?).
Actually they are high paying jobs for India and China. They maybe getting dirt wages for the US, but in their countries they are living very well on those salaries.
Ever heard of Fastlane or EZ-pass? No? Those would be automatic toll booth systems, which, I think, meet the definition of a micropayment system. Sure $0.50- $1 is quite a bit bigger than $0.05, but the business model would work the same, and you would likely have less overhead as a web-only service.
Using their model anyone could setup an online micropayment system, no draconian authority needed.
Looks like browsing has been improved in 10.2, from Apple:
Jaguar lets you connect to Windows file servers more easily than the original Mac OS X. Now all you need to do is use the "Connect To" menu in the Finder to mount shared volumes. Then simply browse the file structure like you would any Mac other server. You no longer have to enter the IP address or know the computer name to find the items you want.
Especially given that the hijackers where only armed with knives according to reports. If that's the case and I'm on the plane my plan is to rush them, hopefully with a few of my fellow passengers.
I think you're blurring the distinction between communism and socialism.
Communism is more than just the socialist ideal that society (i.e. government) should ensure that all people are provided with at least a reasonable minimum standard of living. Communism is also a specific form of government, which has never to my knowledge been associated with effective democracy. (Yes, they do have elections in communist states, and no I don't count those as effective democracy, since the right to appear on the ballot or win the election is not universal.)
Maybe slightly pedantic but...
Communism is just the socialist ideal. That Stalin (and numerous other dictators) have co-opted its name in their rise to power doesn't make the government styles they adopted communist. Is China a republic (they after all call themselves "The Peoples Republic of China")? Are the numerous totalitarian countries that call themselves democracies really democracies? No. Marx's "Communist Manifesto" doesn't go into the form of government much beyond that it is "a dictatorship of the people" (my emphasis). What's a dictatorship of the people? I don't know, (I'd argue democracy) but it certainly isn't dictatorship of Stalin, Mao or Castro.
It should be noted that I haven't read Marx is 6-8 years, so I may be a bit fuzzy...

Which just got released?? Maybe this "Civ 3 Complete" add-on/expansion was just released, but I've been playing Civ 3 on my Mac for years...

Enh, those are probably just for the Ballmer-mandated, company-wide chair throwing sessions. They break a lot chairs that way you know...
;)
Problem is you've changed the equation from passengers/Mach to passengers/(1/Mach) (or passengers*Mach).
(65mph/765.6mph/Mach) = ~0.1 Mach right? And then you multiply that by the number of passengers? How does that get you passengers/Mach?
I think you want passenger*Machs rather than passengers per Mach, since increasing passengers and increasing Mach are good things. ;-)
Old Concorde 200 passenger*Machs new plane 600 passenger*Machs. 10 passenger*Machs/year improvment!

You can do it though CD Baby:

But if there were more rewards for integrity in the world would it still be inegrity when it happened or just self-interest?

Where outside Boston, if I may ask?
I've had that problem before. I find that if I log in (using the link at the top of the page)before hitting 'reply to this' it works just fine.

Unfortunately people are sheep.
Not true, you can make copies for personal use under "Fair Use" laws. It's not until you distribute those copies that it becomes a problem. -n
