That definition also makes George Washington a terrorist.

Without squabbling over definitions, yes, he did use violence as an instrument of political change, whether or not that change was good.

I don't have a major problem with blowing up government buildings during a struggle for independence. I do have a bit of a problem with groups that blow up women and children in pizzerias -- we managed to win our independence without doing it --

People, including ordinary citizens, didn't die in the guerrilla warfare?

but I'll stand by my earlier comments regarding the balance of ones accomplishments. Do the balance of Maldela's accomplishments outweigh the negatives? Most people would say that they do.

This is just saying that the ends justify the means, something I just can't get behind. I believe in solely non-violent protest, as violence and other injustice cannot be combated with only more violence and injustice.

Now avoiding TFA like the plague, it occurs to me that "shockwaves" within the skull able to cause hydrostatic pressure loads comparable to 120+ decibels (is that loud enough for ya?) hitting your eardrums might just damage something other than eardrums.

But lets not even think about the fine possibilities such as massive damage on the cellular level - just consider the overpressures that could be set up within blood vessels. It will be interesting to see if there is any increase in "massive cerebral hemorrage" as a cause of death going forward.

TFA actually has something on this:
James Lin of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Illinois in Chicago says that MEDUSA is feasible in principle. He has carried out his own work on the technique, and was even approached by the music industry about using microwave audio to enhance sound systems, he told New Scientist. "But is it going to be possible at the power levels necessary?" he asks. Previous microwave audio tests involved very "quiet" sounds that were hard to hear, a high-power system would mean much more powerful â" and potentially hazardous â" shockwaves. "I would worry about what other health effects it is having," says Lin. "You might see neural damage."

I think the idea is that is better to communicate with people on a single standard, so you can talk to multiple people (that would otherwise be on different networks), or simply talk about other people using a single identifier that works universally. Also, the need to have multiple accounts can be a little annoying.

This is extremely scary to me, and serves to point out huge flaws in the US justice system and government as a whole. It has saddened me, but also encouraged me to act.
