People have already mentioned a number of SNES games costing more than that, but I remember the Genesis Strider costing $75 at Toys R Us. It did what Nintendon't!
Nintendo's new controller seems anything but simple: you actually move your arms around as you would when utilizing a similar tool in real life. On the PS3 and the Xbox you're twiddling your thumbs. (Will this be the Revolution's marketing slogan?)
I got a Tandy 1000HX when I was seven or so. 3 1/2" AND 5 1/4" drives! Wow! And DeskMate built-in!
Later I received a Tandy 1000RLX, which was my first very own computer. I got a 40 meg HD to play Space Quest 4, the first game I drooled over that required a hard drive...
Now those were the days. I still want that DeskMate 3 that came with the RLX; I have dreams about that weird yellow on blue color scheme.
