I agree, I do the same thing except i dont work at bestbuy or geek squad. We have our own store. I use the linux distro to solve many problems. It makes my life easier and i dont have to spend lot of money on commercial software.

sure if newspaper sites are so worried about it then they should just distribute their newspaper in black plastic bag. All google is doing is to give us the clip of news which many of the popular newspaper already have them on their website. If I want to read full story, I can subsribe to that newspaper. I don't see any copyright law being violated.
yep, that's what I do when I see that there are only ad-hoc network available. Actually I discovered this flaw long time ago. When I am at university in classroom that doesn't have wireless internet, I see many ad-hoc network named with university SSID.
