It's supply and demand. Windows users have a huge catalog of games, Mac is in second place, and we all know where Linux sits. Of course Windows users are going to pay the least.
It is *not* one of the best comment systems on Earth. Slashdot is the only discussion forum I've been to that, through its moderation system, encourages arguments and bickery instead of discussion. "Derr derr derr Walled Garden!" (+5, Informative)
If this site is happy to host the Great SmartPhone OS Flame War, then fine, it's one of the best on Earth. If Slashdot wants to be host to a good discussion forum, it needs to stop giving everybody a Mod Point without any sort of training on how to properly and fairly use it. "Uhh derr I like that comment that put down Google, +1 from me!"
When you file all the details become public. That's a big risk if you aren't sure you'll get it granted. Some choose to try, some choose to keep it secret for as long as possible.
TCO? Really? I like your nick, man. Heh.

It's just too much effort to exclude Apple stories, iddn't it?
You do know that Slashdot looks at the comment count certain topics bring when a story is being chosen to run right?
Ok.... Is this how programmers arm-wrestle?
No, it's not. It's the cause of these stupid fanboy threads and the spine of the Slashdot GroupThink.
Hi Jeremy,
Read the rest of my post.
If we're not sure it's Saraswathi, how will we ever be sure??
Why would neutering my script make it less piss-poor?
No, I'm not. It's a pro-piracy ad.
"You wouldn't want to play a movie on any unauthorized devices."
"You wouldn't want to skip the movie previews we've carefully chosen for you.."
"You wouldn't want to have a backup handy if your media was damaged."
Be a good citizen, report piracy today!.
The moderation system does a fine job of silencing dumb comments.
Heh. Go visit one of the smartphone threads sme time.

Sticks and stones may break our bones, but our health care at least is free!
Erm... actually, Canada's been a pretty good sport about our jokes. We don't have anything held back to say!
However, when France loses it's internet connection....
As a long time AOL user and satisfied customer, it's not very often I get the chance to call anybody else a wuss....

Thank you. I wasn't aiming for funny, I really did post that from my iPhone.
Well, a lot of people did request an Engineer...
How, with a Ouiji Board?
I'm sorry, which side of the field are you on?
Steve can't hog all the credit for that. Go look up the Blaster worm some time, no company wants that sort fo PR.
Hey man, I think you read that wrong. I don't think he's saying that Bill was better or worse. I think he was putting them on the same pedestal.
I don't think he was aiming for anything disrespectful.
Your definition of shiny is amusingly broad. On the next video game story I'm going to talk about how the Wii is shinier than the PS3.
Ashes to Ashes.. Dust to Dust. Now would the pallbearers please drag the casket to the trash can*.

Well... everything except for the massive Flame War he started.
