Kolab is a pipe dream, it suffers from a lack of documentation, leadership and upgradability. Install it and successfully get it running, with a single domain, then when the time comes to upgrade, you may as well just build a new server. Upgrades break EVERYTHING. Undocumented changes from version to version. Nearly any modern (since about 1996) email server can handle multiple virtual domains...Kolab can't, and there isn't any kind of drive from the project to make it any easier to do. It would cut into the competition for their email service if it were made easy. Stick with iRedmail and get a faster, better email server built from nearly the exact components.
I didn't read all of the comments, so if someone already mentioned it, sorry. The R-7000 can run Tomato as well as DD-WRT if you prefer. It is an AC router which with the Netgear firmware, you can turn into an AP only. It is a HUGE behemoth, has three HUGE antennas and will take up a pretty good amount of space compared to other offerings. That said, it has awesome coverage and speed. They aren't cheap, around $200 (less if you do a little shopping around). I have had mine for about a month and it hasn't had any issues.
I have changed jobs every 6 months to a year for about the last 7 years. Most of the gigs were contract or contract to hire, but either the "hire" part never came through, or I didn't want to stay there as a perm slave. I have about 10 more years until I retire, so I am hoping I can keep the job I have now at least that long.

I can work on cars all day and nearly not need to wash my hands to eat! The reason I got into working on cars is because they are a lot like computers. They have an issue, you figure out what it is, and fix it...and I don't require air conditioning/heat or feel sorry for myself if I have to lay under a car.
They have a good functional, easy to use web interface that is just as powerful, if not more so, than the CLI. Both the web interface and CLI are easy to use and just make sense.
How much do you suppose it would cost for Google to relocate their HQ? Or Apple? The infrastructure alone would cost so much to replicate, it would probably put them into bankruptcy. Okay, they may have made a mistake in choosing their locations initially, but I don't see them changing at this point, the investment has been made...get over it.
I think one of the major problems with privacy, is that there are too many opinions on what it is. If we could decide it means what you say it does, then maybe we could get a better handle on protecting it. It is kind of like trying to protect assets on a network...if you don't know what is there, or what it does, how can you protect it?
I used a VSAT Terminal (Commercial account, not residential) to backhaul dial up users for a few years. We paid about $1750 per month for 4mbps down, 1.5mbps up. The latency was between 1500-3300ms nearly always. It wasn't bad for dial up, but wouldn't stand up for any kind of broadband.
It sounds like OP has some kind of 4G hotspot, as in, it connects to a 4G network and shares that connection out via wifi. So...I would follow the suggestion of someone up there a couple of posts - Find good coverage spots and spread out the access via repeaters of some kind.
Wow! I am not used to getting intelligent replies here...that hasn't happened since about 2001! My bad engrish aside, I was saying that Canonical is a for profit, and any profits to be had from a smart phone with the Ubuntu name would likely end up being reported on their bottom line. It feels to me like they are trying to get the community to pay for their R&D because they don't want to, or can't. I too would be first in line with my hard earned cash to buy one, if only there was one.
I don't quite understand...they are celebrating selling over $10 million worth of vaporware, when the goal is $32 million. Were they actually out to build a new phone, or did they just want to break a fund raising record? I won't be contributing to the hype, they are a for profit company in there somewhere, they need to either build the phone, or shut the fuck up.

VPN by design is a secure connection...so, what would you consider the requirements for an insecure VPN to be?
