Not too familiar with this OS, so forgive the question, but does this mean, eventually, we may be able to see linux-based game emulators running on PS3?
That's a bad comparison. Yes, Mario, Metroid, Zelda etc.. have been rehashed over and over again by Nintendo, but at least they are actually different games, each unique in their own right. Mario may be the star of a game, but at least you're playing something completely different then the last time his name was on a game. EA Sports titles usually have added features to the same ol' engine for a number of years. It's quite common to read EA Sports Reviews that tend to say "not much has changed from last year except...".
All this power crazy hardware so blood has more of a shine, pot marks can be seen on the human face, and super realistic smoke coming out of Snake's cigarette..?
I'll go for Wii - at least Nintendo is aiming to wake up this 'same ol' market with innovation, and putting emphasis back on fun instead of graphics that "pwn".
With all due respect to Bethesda (Oblivion's the best thing to hit 360), they are quite known for their delays. From the complete Elder Scrolls series, to even Pirates of the Carribean on the standard Xbox; they never make their proposed date, and it's usually months, not weeks before the product sees the light of day. If a PS3 version becomes a reality, my guess is first quarter of 2007 -- oh, and hopefully there will be a PS3 to play it on by that time.
I hope this channel gets wiped off the map. Back when it was Tech TV, I use to watch almost every show (Screen Savers, Call for Help, etc..), and when they merged with G4, there were some interesting additions (including Icons which is the best damn show on that network). Now it's Star Trek, Man Show, and Attack of the Show which caters to brain dead college kids, and X-play which is a basically 99% repeats, and God-awful comedy skits that take up 3/4 of the show.
Rot in Hell G4
Someone's got it! I've been hating these for years. All cinemas get immediately skipped as soon as I start a game. In addition, more proof you don't need Blue-frigging RAY for games. I bet PS3 BR discs will have half the media filled up with cinematics.
