Actually in many cases ABS will prevent you from coming to a simple stop on a wet or bumpy road where in the absense of it you would have stopped with no problem. ABS has a mind of it's own and gets in the way at low speeds when you don't even need it. I once slid past a turn going 5 miles per hour because ABS thought the car was out of control.
So your comment is incorrect.
