Yes, pretty nerdy. And stupid. Because this is all what he can do during watching the movie: instead of enjoy the entertainment and accept the conventionality of the theater on the screen, focusing on hugging his girlfriend watching with him, instead he starts proving that the nuclear explosion in the movie was actually a CG. Pathetic.

  2. It is a movie! on Programmer Debunks Source Code Shown In Movies and TV Shows · · Score: 1

But who sane would f*ck care what the code is actually doing? The movie is the same thing as in the theater! This "research" is coming from the pricks that they do not really care about the movie itself, but living in their own world, completely detached from the main story. John is going to press Enter to execute his bad-ass work destruction in the sake of saving humanity and kissing Anne, saying he loves her, yet some geek-prick does not gives a shit about the story line, but starts arguing that the code is actually not about bad-ass work destruction, but is essentially a copypaste chunk from the FreeBSD audio subsystem. Oh, this is the same stupid as trying to prove that they are actually do not killing actors during filming some shooting scenes... "Oh, this is sudoku game! I am right!!". Yes, you are right, and the bullets were actually blank and that nuclear explosion was actually a CG.

  15. Easy and impossible on Ask Slashdot: How Would You Fix the Linux Desktop? · · Score: 1

To fix it for new generation installations:

    1. Make it possible to have packages with non-free proprietary software for sale (Ubuntu finally did that)
    2. Make sure there is one standard for major distributions (Ubuntu is trying that hard).
    3. Merge KDE and Gnome together tightly, so KDE software won't look like alien crap on Gnome and vice-versa.
    4. Make sure LibreOffice opens MS Excel and MS Word documents flawlessly, so you can print-out Word document from MS Office and LibreOffice, put two papers on a window and see they're not different a milimeter (they do this in Japan, JFYI).
    5. Fuck free-only ideology to slurp all sources into repository and build everything from sources only. Allow proprietary closed-source software.
    6. Keep LSB as a fucking Holy Cow and never fucking violate it!
    7. Make sure developers can make money from it. They want eat as well.

Oh, but that above will never happen, because everyone wants to have a choice and be free. And choice = chaos and shitload of knobs that a regular user never needs... Too bad, this is mostly geeks-only. Only Ubuntu makes some limited sense on a desktop so non-geeks can use it for a regular daily e-mail/web-browsing/music-playing box.

Because "knowing a lot" does not mean "know everything", but usually the more somebody demonstrates his knowledge, the less he actually knows. I drew a conclusion that at Google they are not getting things other than just pure technically. Sort of soul-less company with a soul-less products. Would I like for such company? Uhmm... No.

Latest rants about Google by their prominent employees and my experience developing for their Android actually only proves it.
