I dont really get this point. I have Vista on my desktop in my study. I have stuck with Vista, despite same problems everyone is speaking about, for 2 reasons
1. DirectX10 for gaming
2. PC-TV
For PC to TV I use my PS3 connected to my TV in the living room to access content on my VistaPC in the Study. The same thing can be done with Xbox360. I dont need a "dedicated" PC at the TV to do this. I have read that the same functionality is possible for WinXP using WMv11 but as it is working really well with Vista I am sticking with it.
If it can be downloaded and edited doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose? Once used offline Google Preso needs to compete with PPT, and any other presentation software, on a feature function level and be able to do presentations better. Otherwise why use it?
no idea but a good replacement to windows explorer is a product called xplorer2 which you get from www.zabkat.com. It allows tabbed views plus a host of other features.
It seems the point is that it is new technology and it offers the same bandwidth via both wired and wireless connnections. Not just for one or the other.

yes but you are only "schlepping" one to power the hub and not one for each device.
