Or maybe they were being nice enough to give folks some warning to revert back to the original firmware and to prevent others from modifying it? Should Apple really screw over all the good customers who didn't void their warranties, who didn't blatantly ignore the absolutely clear advertisements the iPhone is for use on the AT&T network only, by pushing back the release of new features in order to make them place nicely with a hack? Give me a break. An evil company would have done it without warning.
Getting someone fired over a comment is tantamount to saying that person has no right to make said comment. Whether you like it or not, the goal of these watchdog groups is to regulate speech.
This is certainly something that we, as a country, should not be proud of. It is a horrible sign of the times we live in that we have so-called watchdog groups hiring people to monitor radio and television broadcasts for "offensive" material for the sole purpose of attempting to rally their censorship team to fire the person who had the audacity to let loose an insensitive remark. What happened to the mentality of "I hate everything you stand for and have to say but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."?
Unfortunately this issue is endemic in the United States today. There are very large segments of the population of a wide range of ethnicities that cross party lines who simply are looking for any excuse to be offended and recoil in mock outrage; they are tearing this country apart at the seams.
An excellent use of the rumble feature is in the Madden football series. If you have to make a critical field goal try at the end of the game, it puts you into a first person view, plays the sound of a heartbeat, and the rumble mimics the feel of a heartbeat. It really does totally immerse you in the moment. So, let's end this nonsense about how rumble packs are totally useless.

It's disingenuous to be a proponent of free speech and then clamor to shut someone up.

Is it not better to have it running on both? I don't understand how the two are mutually exclusive. Some use of folding@home is good. More is better.
