rofl. so true.
not really surprised though, i think the major objection to intel chips for most applications was stability not speed. ditto for the graphics cards. more boxes = more games = more devs on the cards.
props to the amusing summary though.
"Hard drive death dance tracks. daithedragon writes 'A while back Gizmodo awarded the prizes in a competition to make a dance tracks out of the recorded noises of hard drives dying.'" seriously, who comes up with that, and moreover how do you kill a hard drive without having the noise of it getting hit or something?
RTFA/common knowledge: E-ink is called ink because it remains in whatever state you put it in without using power. Actually you don't need to RTFA, its mentioned in the summary: "Because no power is used unless the reader changes the page, devices with the technology could go as long as 20 books between battery charges."
Interesting point, although how would telecloning make this any more possible than quantam cloning? Heisenberg Uncertainty Principal talks also about wave particle duality (if you dont know what im talking about wikipedia is reasonably complete about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncertainty_principle /. Really the principle is concerned with two "conjugate" variables, commonly it is just thought of with regards to position and momentum, but it also applies to things such as energy vs time. also just because you clone a particle at an instant doesnt mean they will still be identical an instant later when you measure the two things.
From TFA: "EPIC asked the Justice Department for four types of records, including an audit of NSA domestic surveillance activities, a checklist showing probable cause to eavesdrop, communications about the use of information NSA obtained, and other documents concerning increased domestic surveillance."
My new hero this judge is.

What?
M$ screwed up? Not possible.
Maybe they were just desperate for some media hype, God knows they aren't getting much of it.
Orson Scott Card != publisher afaik
actually the hardware's been there for ages, its just been handmade and far too expensive
so e-ink's been around for awhile, but how cool would it be if it could get things like the daily newspaper or RSS feeds too?
SCHRODINGER'S CAT FOUND HALF ALIVE
Quantum Theory Wrong
at least, half the cats are alive
ok so it tries to tag a / on the end and wikipedia doesnt like it so heree

so now we can listen in on quantum encrypted... wait a second... that doesn't exist yet.
O well, must be the FBI getting an early start.
