Pretty Much once you get out of the Reach of any particular country on the sea, any thing still goes. IMHO, AMD is doing a remarkable job at keeping on top of Intel. Except for one thing. You (not that I know of anyways) Cant do SMP with Athlons. But you can with P3's and P2's etc... Right now Im running a Dual p3 550E System. And I do alot of computational junk (what i really mean is I do alot of compiling and MP3 Encoding at the same time) And Im willing to bet My System will make the Athlon 1ghz look like Eniac at those tasks. However Games would be really really sweet. Im not aware of how A 1ghz Athlon stands up to Intel based systems but Id be interested to see how they handle against SMP based machines (By the way the p3 550E set up cost me about 500 Dollars, A 1ghz Athlon is around 800 for hte chip... ANd I belive that price is a little low.) If anyone knows of anhthing that pertains to this chime on in.

Unfortunately for the Linux community. The Target audidence for most games is your average computer user. And Unfortunately the Avg Joe Schmoe uses Windows. Developers can design games to work with the latest technologies for windows (Direct X #) But they won't be as likely to port the games to linux because Direct X isn't available on other Platforms. Dont get me wrong some games do use GL and such and are easily portable. But another issue with game companies Is they need to make the most money possible. In order to do that they must cater to the bigest market. And by doing so they may or may not have the funding or abilities to port the game to other operating systems.
By the way. I want a Pure Linux Port to StarCraft. And I want it NOW.

How many times will Mulder And Scully get soo Close but never ever get an answer? the show has two major issues. 1. It suffers from the "gilligans Island" syndrome 2. It suffers from the "gilligans Island" syndrome What i mean is this. We all know that Mulder and Scully will never get what they are looking for. In order to keep the audience captive, the show must keep some sort of reality. And Admist all of the monsters and such Mulder and Scully never do _really_ get proof of anything. That way some doubt can be left to the viewers mind. The show has always been like this and we know darn well it won't change. Secondly... Carter has stated numerous times Mulder and Scully will never have any kind of real romantic relations (Yea they might have almost did once but I remember scully getting stung by a Bee right before it happened then they dropped it). Here is an Idea. Why not make it so that If download an attachment 1. Its not set to autorun. Netscape's Email Proggie Does not autorun attachments like that by default. But Outlook does. If Microsoft released a patch that switched the Autorun to off by default then 90% of these problems won't happen because, Most people who use outlook are computer dum-dums and won't know how to enable it. Which means that Annoyances like the I Love you virus won't hurt as bad. 2. Instead of disallowing attachments of certain file types how bout this. Make it so that either the attachment is ran in a "Virtual Machine" Which does not have access to your actuall system or set the permissions on your system files to READ-ONLy while an attachment is running so that the program can not modify them.
