This won't happen anytime soon. If anyone here has ever worked for the government, or atleast the state departments which handle most of our relevant junk. You should know that this is far far far far from happening. There are things called budgets and Jobs. The State Governemnts will be reluctant to do this because no one wants to spend more money on new technology that will require fewer but higher paid people to be employed. Plus they all live off of paper work. Im not kidding when I say this. but there are People out there who Live to create a bueracratic Hell for other employees. (Just try and get that Request for more Staples Filled.. You have to fill out Lots and lots of forms!!!) Heh..

Now what happens if they(authors) Publish online with out one of your "evil Copyright Schemes" The author will not make money from book sales. The Authors Can't Make money from endorsments. (You don't see Stephen King Selling Coca-Cola) And They can't go out and do Concerts... For some reason The Great Gatsby doesn't Catch me as Mosh Music. Now. given Authors, if they have a really really great book, can get hollywood execs to make a movie. But hey. Considering the Ratio of "Books Published" to "Movies Based on books" , You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning. Secondly. Encoding Mp3's and redistributing them, no matter what you think or belive. IS Illegal. And the record Executives Arent Making Theievs and Criminals the Pirateers themselves are making them by Blatently Disregarding the Copyright Laws Put into place. So what this means is that if their are "evil Copyright protection schemas" in place Publishers/authors aren't calling their Fans Criminals or Theives they are trying to make a living. If you pirate then you make your self the theive and therefore are responsible for any penalties. Its people like you (the closeminded oneside of the argument only) people that slow down progress. And After 2.3.43 (IIRC) WHen it didnt like having 33 and 66 ata/dma/whatever HDDs on the same chain and causing file systems to start getting lots of lots of bad memory blocks. And as of 2.3.99 p6 SHM _was_ working as far as i could tell. I was using it and never had any problems... Get this thing fixed already 2.3.x is very much faster than 2.2 and im sick of using buggy software
Ohh and Afterwards it can use the Run of Oil and Burger Fat to Lube its self up..... And I've seen many of band-aids in food before.. I just hope not nuts and bolts end up in my burgers... Heh.. A few things with your arguments are very valid, a few things can be argued. Yes teachers are over using calculators to "teach" students to learn how to do stuff. This is soo true. Im starting to get dumber myself from using calculators wayyyy to much. But then again, alot of times I use the calculator to do dumb stuff like 4/1= because Im doing stuff like f'=log 34n x cos 15 or something equally as weird. and it becomes so habit forming to keep hitting those keys that 4/1 does come out on accident. Secondly. Another place you forget how to do Long Division and Actual Number Calculation is College. Im lucky to actually See Numbers anymore in Problems I am solving. I seem to also remember with the exception of calculation of Statistics that Discrete Mathematics was almost no numbers (except for 1's and 0's) And I screwed up 24/3 one day because I havent dealt with actuall numbers in a while. Yea calculators are bad. But other stuff also can contribute to dumifying us =). Plus... Why take 10 minutes to figure out 32365/34 when you can solve it in 2 seconds on a calculator?
My programming Goal is to finish the Do Stuff(c) Functions a Libraries. A program that will Write your programs for you by simply declaring the dostuff function. Basically #include "dostuff.h"//or your languages equivalent void main(){//again your language equivalent dostuff();//ditto } Viola You are done My Only pittfall has been, actually writing it. I designed it to write itself Recursivley.. But so far my hardware doesnt want to comply.. And yes I wrote the original Segfault story on this so it _is_ original even if you have read it there before.

I really don't think Terroists use the Honor system that way =) Secondly what the point to the USA being pissed off?
